We chose the Disney Fantasy due to the fun we had on the ship in 2018 and the fact that it was an 8 night cruise.
First I want to highlight the good.
1. Check in was easy and very efficient and orderly. We had rain in the area when we checked in and Disney really got people thru the lines at security very efficiently.
2. The staff was excellent. Our room host was amazing, as was our ...
We went on this cruise because we haven't been to the southern Caribbean islands. Everything was wonderful on the cruise considering the ship was almost 20 years old. Word to the wise on the aft rooms they like to creak. This kept me up the last few nights of the cruise as the waters were not as calm. The ship is one of the smaller Disney ships which was wonderful. My son loved the slinky ...
We have been traveling for the last few year and most have been enjoyable. But, they have been cruises/trips that were physically challenging for seniors. So, since we enjoy Disney cruises, we selected this one. The ship, it's compliment(from Capt. Fabian on down) were friendly and always helpful.
If someone wasn't pleased with the options and variety of food, then nothing would satisfy ...
We chose to travel with our grandchildren and their parents to celebrate both of the children's 3rd & 11th birthdays. We chose aft balconies on the port side. We usually were on the land side when we docked and saw the port. I suggest the starboard side (right) if you are doing the Southern Caribbean. The cakes we purchased for them were absolutely delicious. They did not have real candles but ...
My family of two adult and two boys (7 and 9) enjoyed the ship and the ports, but the food really was disappointing. We've also sailed on the Disney Dream for a short cruise several years ago. The food then was a bit better and we hoped that Disney had made some improvements. Unfortunately, no. The pizza was tolerable, the hamburgers on deck were okay not great. I didn't expect much from the deck ...
I'm going to be giving comparisons based on our other cruise experiences since that's what I would be looking for.
Embarkation was the fastest on Disney, likely due to the assignment of arrival times.
Cabin, we had cabin 2134. It was just past the rank part of the hallway. The hallway in from of the next 6-10 rooms closer to the middle of the ship had a really rank smell that sincerely ...
We took a Disney Cruise during Thanksgiving 2014. The cruise went to St. Marteen and San Juan. Overall, the cruise was ok. The food quality was not near as good as the last Disney Cruise we went on. The dinner's were good at best and not the top of the line quality we have been accustom to on prior Disney Cruises. The portions were very small. For Thanksgiving main dinner meal we were at The Royal ...
I was blessed to go on a limited "test run" itinerary on the Disney Magic going to the Southern Caribbean. They did 4 runs in September and October 2014, and DCL is undecided if they will renew this itinerary. I SURE HOPE THEY DO!! The islands were wonderful! We went to Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, and St. Kitts. The locals were extremely nice and friendly. They were accommodating and ...
To start off with, I'm 19 years old and am a kid at heart. I love Disney and all the characters I grew up with, so naturally I couldn't wait to go on a cruise with all the Disney characters I grew up with. My family and I (I have two younger brothers), went during Christmas week. I've been on one cruise before with Carnival. To be clear, I can be extremely critical and opinionated.
**GREAT ...
This was our 4th DCL cruise (19th cruises total) and probably our last DCL cruise for awhile. While we had a great time, we just find that the extra cost (even with Florida Resident Rates) is just not worth it when compared with other cruise lines.
The food, with a few exceptions, was just OK and, in some cases, downright bad - and we are not fussy. We eat anything and everything! But, DCL ...
