Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (04B) Cabin Reviews

The cabin is small by cruise standards. The heating/cooling was uncontrolable. Always felt cold and damp in the cabin. The 'host' was very attentive but there was little that he could do about the temperature and the dampness.

The cabin was spacious (as cabins go). Pleasantly surprised by the storage - lots of room to accommodate 15 days worth of clothing & stuff for five people. We liked having the three separate beds for the kids which meant no fighting. However, we quickly learned the hard way that when the Murphy bed was down we couldn't access one cabinet .... So we had to remember to get the kids pyjamas and clothes for the next day out before going to dinner! The balcony was nice and has plexiglass in the railing to keep it safe. However, deck nine above extends a ways beyond deck 8, keeping direct sun from the balcony. Could be a plus or negative, depending on your point of view. The location of this cabin is excellent for accessing restaurants, grabbing a quick beverage by the pool, or dropping/picking up from the kids clubs. The only negative was the strong vibrations while underway. Having been on many cruises, and usually opting for a cabin in a similar location, I can confidently say that the vibrations were unusually intense. We were traveling at more than 20 knots for most of the trip, and it felt like our teeth were chattering while laying in bed. It was worst closest to the hall (bottles rattled constantly in the bathroom) and was better closer to the balcony. I have never experienced that before and would probably not choose this cabin again for that reason alone. Read Less

Clean, loved split bath with shower/ small tub/sink. toilet /sink side was very small. towels were large, new and fluffy. cabin attendant was great. Room was always clean. Our aft cabin had the white steel wall. I would sit on a pillow so I could see land. The curvature of the ship prevented the wall to be glass. Loved the location on deck 5 aft. The bed was very comfortable. Sofa made into a single bed at night. The cabin area was separated with a room darkening curtain for privacy for a triple. Loved the Godiva chocolates at night at turn down. Carpets looked new. Read Less

Cabin could accommodate up to 4. Large bed, pull down bunk, and a couch that converts to a bed. Two baths - one with a sink and shower/tub, the other with a sink and a toilet. Super convenient.
