This was my 2nd Disney cruise and my 3rd time cruising. The last Disney cruise was to Alaska on the Wonder, and it was the best vacation ever! So I made a prepayment and couldn't wait to go on another Disney cruise again. Well, this latest cruise would only rate a 6 out of 10. Avoid rooms that have an adjoining interior door with the neighboring room, such as 1050 and 1052. My neighbors had an absolutely annoying kid who looked about 3 years old. Every single day and night, that cried and yelled, and coughed, usually around 7am, once in the afternoon as I tried to nap, and once at 11:30pm. The husband would yell at the kid, and even talking, they had to be loud. I complained to guest services but the lady said all the rooms were booked, so we could not be moved to another room. She told me I could dial 0 if they got too loud and mgt could talk to the family. We got 2 bags of popcorn and rice krispie treats as an apology for this lousy family being next door. I wouldn't say the cruise was ruined but this greatly diminished my enjoyment as every day I was cranky and sleep deprived. The other main negative was the extreme rockiness of the ship. The Alaskan cruise was very serene so I expected a similar seasick-free experience. Nope. Every night the ship swayed so much that you could see drinks shaking on the dinner tables and holiday wreaths swinging on the walls. It felt awful and gave me a headache one night. Weather was not warm enough. It rained on the day we stopped in the Bahamas and the water at castaway cay was very cold. It started raining that early afternoon and all the day's excursions were canceled due to wind. It only got hot enough for us to venture into a pool on the afternoon the day before leaving. However, soon after that, a kid defecated in the pool so everyone had to get out and it was unusable the rest of the day. The toilet in our room smelled mildly of old urine. I wiped down and tried washing all around the surfaces but could never get rid of the smell, but I didn't have the heart to tell the Filipino man who was our room attendant. Hair dryer was old and grimy from so many hands touching it-- gross. Pillows were lumpy and there was old grime in the corners of the bathroom; if I go again, I will only go on newer ships. Carpet in main areas, bench near theater were worn out. Cabanas seating was jam packed. Many food portions at dinner were so small it was laughable. Salmon one night tasted like burnt plastic, and the lemon pie seemed overbaked and tasted bad. My child had a hamburger that was dry and reminded me of cheap hamburgers from my public school cafeteria. All the cakes were dry and spongey. Cutlery is all big and heavy, not right for little kids to deal with. The coffee is watery, cheap drek in worn plastic mugs, unless you shell out more money for the cafe. I felt nickeled and dimed (or dollared?!) when we were charged for popcorn and a tiny cup of juice near the theaters, and of course you feel obligated to tip the poor 3rd world staff on top of it all. The photo package was something like $250 for the smallest package-- pass! I didn't get suckered into spa services but those prices are crazy too. Ok, good aspects: my kid loved the kid's club and kept wanting to go. Some if the food was excellent, like the soups and salads at dinner. Mashed potatoes, pizza, fries, soft serve ice cream are tasty. Service was mostly excellent although the servers kept taking our cutlery away as they cleared dishes. We wound up eating with soup spoons or even a knife. The shows were the best. Tangled and the John Cassidy show were surprisingly much better than I anticipated. Even my kid sat through them. Castaway Cay was beautiful and the lunch buffet was delicious. I wish we had 2 days there instead of the overly touristy/grimy Bahamas stop. Views from the ship were awesome. The tour of the ship for adults was interesting. Embarking and disembarking were pretty smooth. The cruise helps you check in your luggage and gives you boarding passes the night before, which was great so we didn't have to drag luggage around the next day. The Disney shuttle to the airport was nice and quick, with a video ad to make the time fly by. One other thing to keep in mind is that cruising during Xmas, a lot more people are sick. In addition to the constantly crying and coughing kid next door, everywhere we went on the ship, people were coughing. It's pretty off putting to be in a crowded theater as someone's hacking near you. So in the future, I will avoid cruising during cold and flu season. The last day, my obnoxious neighbors had their alarm clock going off at 5:40am for at least 10 minutes. I felt like throttling them. After a whole day at the airport, we returned tired, heavier, and still feeling like the rooms are swaying. It was an ok experience this time that I will not repeat. I don't recommend this particular time/itinerary/ship. Read Less

Overall the cruise was great, a few improvements could be made, I'll get to that later. Disney truly goes above and beyond with customer service! It was my granddaughter's first cruise and her first trip out of Canada without her mother (my daughter) due to severe food allergies. To put things in context, she's unable to have restaurant or take-out experiences back home for fear of cross-contamination and a trip to the ER. This is where Dumitri comes in, who made the entire trip magical for us. He convinced me the first time we sat down for a meal that Disney does understand food allergies and takes them very seriously. Due to his diligence, attention to detail, and overall desire to make this an incredible experience, my 6 year old granddaughter was able to eat every meal without fear of becoming sick. She was so impressed that she's decided we should either move onto the ship or we should take Dumitru home with us! Thank you Dumitru; as a result of your dedication, this will be the first of many trips with the Disney brand. Items that could use improvement: 1) My granddaughter and I were disappointed the Disney characters weren't more available/accessible to kids. If you wanted to see any of them, you had to line-up at designated times and areas...which meant the line-ups were long. I've gone to Disney World a few times and I was expecting characters to be walking around on the ship for kids to interact with. 2) The waiting time to be served in the restaurants was way too long for kids. I thought the wait was due to our particular situation with food allergies, but when I spoke to other families on board, they expressed the same comment. Read Less

As expected from Disney we experienced top notch guest service. A very clean well maintained ship. No bad experiences with staff. Great service from our dining team which you keep throughout the rotation of dining rooms. Our experience was during holiday season and ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Nightly shows are high caliber entertainment along with first run movies available in a theater. Our port stops were good Key West, Castaway Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. We did not use any port excursions as we just explored on our own. Honestly at Castaway Cay you don't need any port excursions just enjoy the beautiful island. 1st time embarking at Miami and it was not as pretty as port Canaveral but Disney made it mostly seamless process. The smaller ship was nice as we have previously been on Disney's larger ships, it was quicker to navigate around and up to pool deck on the Magic. Read Less

Save your money Crew and ship Appearance was very good. Pool deck Breakfast and lunch on the back of the boat. Lousy pizza and ice cream cones on pool deck midship. The restaurants were nice. Free text though disney app was excellent to communicate to other family members on the boat, castaway Cay, and Magic Kingdom. BUT... SHIP WAS ROCKING SIDE TO SIDE all the time. MANY were very motion sick. No characters roaming The ship, only 40 minute wait lines to see or take a pic with them. Hot and humid slimey water Castaway Cay island water with sea lice was nasty. You'll know it when you feel like your being bitten on top of your shoulders when you exit the water. Excursions cancelled, unknown why. Magic kingdom was 90 plus degrees with limited benches and shade. Many had to vacate the park back to the buses (1 hour ride back to the boat) the next day we all froze all the way back to New York. Nothing for adults or a 10 year to do. 10 year old told he had to be 13 to play on 3 lousy XBox games in the ships game room. That's all they had in there. It's Disneys schedule, not yours. Your just along for the ride. 4x12 shift TSA screeners are nasty to get back on the boat at the dock of Port Canaveral. Shopping from $25 coffee mug tmmmqo $13500 3 inch tall quartz figures. Be prepared to walk for miles and miles and be dizzy while your at it. All 8 of us hated the cruise. Even the 10 year old. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Read Less

I chose this cruise because it was something I always wanted to experience and so I took my 9 yr old grandson during Spring break from school. We love the Disney Parks and wanted to try to cruise. My husband, 23 yr old son, my grandson and myself were in stateroom 7536. My brother, sis in law and 18 yr old nephew were in 7520. We had a nice time all in all. There was a mishap on first night dinner in AP. We ordered steaks and my bro got a one inch piece of metal in his. He was chewing and after feeling it, he spit it out - thank goodness. The wait staff, chef and head waiter were very apologetic and I felt bad for the chef. He looked so upset and puzzled. It was a piece of metal from a wire brush that would be used to clean a grill. This could have ruined entire cruise if it had been swallowed. Like I said, they were very upset that this happened and I hope they do whatever they need to do to ensure this never happens again. Swallowing that could be fatal. At the very least would require surgery. We received Magical Memories certificates for our troubles. The ports were fine. Key West was nice. Nassau - been there, done that. Unless your doing a day at Atlantis, might be best to stay on the ship. Castaway Cay, was beautiful. The weather was great. The shows were awesome. Saw every one of them. They released END GAME on the ship and that was so fun. Disney details were the best. We enjoyed some late night trivia and juggling entertainment. The food was okay but nothing over the top. We didn't do Palo. We were very disappointed that Lumiere's did not offer any entertainment for dinner. AP and the Tangled restaurants did have lovely entertainment, but not Lumiere's. It was our last night's restaurant so we looked forward to some fun, but there was none to be had. The wait staff said they removed the Beauty and the Beast entertainment because it was frightening to the little ones. This is Disney and they could have done something else rather than nothing. So yeah that was disappointing. Would I do another Disney Cruise, possibly but not 100% yet. Read Less

Embarkation in Miami a bit rocky, the check in was not well staffed in addition to enormous amount of first time cruisers, everyone confused & slow, slow, slow. Stateroom needed much attention lots of patchwork, shower loose and sprayed water from neck, missing caulking to messy over caulked area's and the noise, you could not get away from it on the 8th deck, do not book an stateroom with a connecting door and stay away from deck 8. Chair dragging, running, jumping quiet about 0100hrs. The ship is showing her age, deck 4 very narrow for running track. Dining same as the Dream class yet no one dressed for dinner on this ship but a handful of us. Minimum activities, everything everywhere trivia! Our stateroom host was on his phone almost always, left trash bins ajar never refilled soap, had to ask for it and shampoo etc. He smiled and always apologized, just off putting & we are neat freaks so he never had much to do. The movie theater had zero leg room, it was very uncomfortable if you are over 5'6". The sail away party was awful, I can go hear a DJ anywhere, if you have a choice skip this one. (Unless you enjoy really small elevators packed with people and stairs that are so narrow they are hard to navigate especially when there are children running up & down them with no parents in sight. No Magic on the Magic in our opinion, pretty bad when you are Okay with disembarkation day! Read Less

This cruise was nothing but amazing! Beyond our expectations. We came well prepared with lots of U-tube videos and FB groups so we knew what to expect. Even if you don't do that the staff was super helpful. The wait staff took care of all our dietary restrictions with no issues. Our kids enjoyed that they knew exactly what they wanted every night. My kids love d the unlimited ice cream! The food was fantastic! We went on a couple of excursions through Disney. We felt well taken care of and safe. The private island was not crowded and we had lots to do and nothing to do at the same time. Our room was clean and set up so nicely every night. Our room attendant was over the top with taking care of us. We ordered too service once and really enjoyed it! Food was hot and us parents enjoyed that we could have a glass of wine on the deck in our room at night! The entertainment was mind blowing. Every night!!! It was like going to a live theatre all the time! My kids were screaming with delight at the end of each show. There was lots to do and nothing to do at the same time. The balance and options were endless! I would totally go again! Best way to do Disney!! Character meet and greets were better than Disney World! Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to take our grandchildren with us. The crew stood out from the time we stepped on board. Our family was announced as we walked on board and cheered as we walked past. An issue was resolved with grace and humor by the Guest Services people. Every member of the crew actually seemed happy to be there and doing what they were hired to do. I caught a crew member dancing to herself when no one else was looking. Especially accommodating were our dinner wait staff. Our main waiter, Ralph, and his assistant, Deddy, were quick, efficient and fun to be around. Our youngest, who is 9, ordered a lemonade at dinner the first night at dinner. She was shocked when she was brought a lemonade every night before she had a chance to ask. They showed some magic tricks as well as some mind-benders using crayons. They went with us each night even as we went to different dining rooms. This was a great idea as well. We had dinner in each of the 3 dining rooms. Each had something different to offer. Animator's Palate was adorned with screens on all the walls which had pencil drawings. As the night went on the screens changed to show how the characters were drawn. Finally, they went to color and became fully animated as Mickey entered the dining room. Rapunzel's Table was decorated as you might expect from the time period depicted in that fairy tale. A live show during dinner was also great for the kids. The number of children was much higher than on other cruises I've taken. This did cause some lines when characters came out to sign autographs. The outdoor evening events were when the number of children really was evident. The pool deck was wall to wall kids! The evening productions seemed to have just a little higher level of talent than most cruises I've been on. The changes in scenery along with the animation made the productions really stand out. Our grandkids really enjoyed the whole experience, especially the day in Castaway Cay. It was a great time for all. However, I would not go on it just as a couple. Read Less

I travelled with two children 5 and 6. Accessibility to characters was great! We waited several hours to onboard ship which was difficult for kids, but we did get to meet characters. The ship was very clean. Wait staff and housekeeping were exceptional and extremely pleasant. We did one port adventure which was expensive and not a good experience. I called on phone and asked if my excursion included access to water park at Atlantis. I was told yes, and I clearly said port adventure number N47. At orientation for adventure, we were told we can’t go to water park. When I spoke to attendant, she rudely kept insulting my intelligence stating, “It clearly says not include,” (it did not). I was told I could spend $300 per person to upgrade. No Thanks! That’s where the nickel and dining started. This ship is money hungry! I tried to return my childrens’ bracelets during disembarkment. I was told I was already charged for them. Another cruise member said she would return th for me. I was then CHASED with them and told to take them, I own them now. Literally squeezing every last cent out of me. Also, charged $22 to use their lab top for 5 min to check banking. The extra expenses they snuck out of me really took away from all the great service. Also, left at port adventure without guide. Driver kept asking ME itinerary and where we were going?!? Not worth the money. Left lost in Atlantis asking everyone where we should be. Read Less

This is our first Disney experience and first cruise with your 3 year old daughter. It was a 5 day Bahamian cruise with one Marvel day at sea. CHECK IN: we were picked up easily in baggage check by a Disney agent holding a sign with our name. She quickly got our bags and whisked us away to the Four Seasons Miami in a very comfortable SUV. The transportation (Disney) to the cruise ship was not so easy. We were in a huge bus and had to wait for everyone to get on. When we got to the port, it was very crowded and we were not sure where to go. There was a very long line although we were in concierge level. We are not familiar with cruising so we expected a private check in. But, maybe that's not how concierge cruises go? ROOM: Our room was absolutely gorgeous with a long balcony (not deep though). It was a one bedroom suite with two bathrooms and two showers. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The rocking of the ship made it very easy to sleep. Our room was kept tidy and we had special treats every night by Ferdie. He was great and very friendly and eager to please. The mini bar was convenient as we always had sparkling water and other drinks available. Concierge made sure we had the drinks we specifically wanted. We put the baby in a crib and she fit nicely next to our room and we still had our own space. CONCIERGE: I cannot imagine what this first experience would have been like without the concierge team: Emanuela, Kamesha and Amanda and help from staff, Hikmet, Nicholas and Jermain. We needed a lot of "hand holding" as we had not had any cruise experience on a ship this big. I expressed my concerns to Emanuela the first day and although I was a bit tired and frustrated after a long day of travel and some confusion, she was very, very patient and understanding and put me at ease and guided me through everything I needed to know. Every day, one of the team members would go through the itinerary with me and I greatly appreciated it. Kamesha and Amanda made Jacqueline my 3 year old feel very welcome and comfortable. They were able to get her the non dairy milk that I had requested and also the sparkling mineral water. We were able to get a last minute reservation at Palo which was absolutely incredible. FOOD: We ate at Lumiere's, Animator's Palate, and Rapunzel's Table. Our servers were Munir, Steve and Gerardo. Gerardo is very good at magic tricks and kept Jacqueline entertained. The dinner was great and food was very good with lots of choices. I only eat seafood but always found something I liked. On the Disney Magic, dinner is not just food, it's a show, a whole production. This was the first time, 5 days in a row our daughter sat at dinner and did not want to watch the ipad. The first night, she was very tired and crying though..Munir was so sympathetic and ran to get her a stuffed puppy. It cheered her up right away. Steve was always there to help us make great choices on dishes and he quickly learned our likes and dislikes. PALO: Palo is the adults only italian restaurant. It is a must do. Mehmet was our server and he had me almost in tears laughing. Dinner was so great. We had the Osso Bucco and the Dover Sole. CABANAS: this is the buffet option which we chose for breakfast and most lunches. It is excellent with a wide variety of choices and something different every day. The staff is excellent. Alexandru was so caring one morning when my daughter insisted on strawberry ice cream. He went out of his way to get it for her. Bee was so helpful and helped me carry my plate as I had my daughter in both arms. CASTAWAY CAY: This is Disney's private island and it is absolutely spectacular. It is so beautiful and serene. We stayed in cabana 14 and this is a perfect location right across from the washrooms. The beach was calm with no waves and white sand. the water was crystal clear. It is almost like a dream. The only place more beautiful than this was our trip to Bora Bora. I do have to mention that some of the staff i.e. the driver of the train and one of the golf cart drivers were not representative of Disney standard. not friendly. not helpful. short. gruff. SHOWS: We were only able to stay up for one show which was Dreams. This was the first time she ever watched a show from beginning to end with no coaxing. She was completely enthralled with her eyes glued to the stage. CHARACTERS: The character meet and greets come with long lines but I realized that this is going to be unavoidable on a cruise..lines....lines to get out...lines to get on the ship, lines to see characters, lines to go to eat. lines. but, it was worth the wait for the memories. Jacqueline had several unforgettable memories. On two separate occasions, she ran into Ariel and Sophia. They were both so endearing and played with her and held her hand and walked around the ship with her for quite a while. It really made her trip. These are memories she will keep with her. We took videos. OCEANEER'S CLUB: This is the part I was the most disappointed in. Although, it turned out well on the last try. We tried 3 times to get our daughter to go to the club, but she just would not go the first two times. The first time was not a good first impression. When we walked in, the girl at the check in was not very friendly or welcoming and seemed like she just didn't want to be there and had already had too long of a day and just wanted us to go away. I asked if I could walk my daughter in and this was not allowed. I came by 20 minutes after i dropped her off and she was wandering around by herself. The second time we tried, she cried again. The third time, luckily, we met Sophy. She was very helpful, patient and understanding. She let me walk Jacqueline around and get her acquainted. She requested for someone to come to her to help her get comfortable and we got Nic. She asked Jacqueline if she wanted to do face painting and she quickly went to her. That's all it took. I wish we had met Sophy and Nic on the first day. Other friends have said that their kids did not want to leave kids club, but our experience was totally the opposite. I did not see the big hype here. Hopefully, we have a better experience on our next cruise. CHECK OUT: We had to get on a big bus again. I sat in the back because they fill the bus up so that there are absolutely no seats empty. I had motion sickness. My only suggestion would be to have an option for private transportation. I really enjoyed the bags checked through from ship to destination. That was very helpful. We will definitely try this again. We will stick to the one bedroom suite. It is a perfect location in midship room 8022. It is one floor below all the action at the pool and just below concierge lounge. Read Less

This was our first Disney cruise and I was so nervous about the amount of money it cost. However, I get the whole Disney cruise thing now. If you have kids it’s the thing to do! The daily entertainment was great. The nightly shows were amazing! Broadway quality. Food was, for the most part good. We found the dining room service to be a bit uneven. Great one night, poor another. We did really enjoy the different themed dining rooms. Castaway Cay was one of the best parts of the cruise. By far the best cruise ship private island I have been to. A few minor complaints: 1) If you want pics with characters be prepared to stand in line. Especially on Marvel day. 2) the kids club is not a technology free zone. The kids are encouraged to play with video games and iPads. I found this very disappointing for Disney. 3) The dining rooms are loud! If your child (or spouse) is sensitive to noise bring hearing protection. Overall a great experience and we will probably do it again. Read Less

Although lines were long if you plan right you can be near front and they give you plenty of time to visit. Let you take your own pictures. Marvel show was excellent. Kids club was really nice we loved it had two areas which were both large with many activities. Dining was a fun concept they really get to know your likes and dislikes by a day or two. Some of the regular shows were not that exciting to us but overall excellent experience! Would have liked to bring my own larger cup for soda but no biggie. So many movies to watch in the theater or in room all for free, yay. Really didn’t spend much extra on the trip but I could see that many people got a lot of extra such as stuff animals, pins ect. If taking kids it be a good idea to get something before hand to surprise them on the trip so you don’t spend the extra on the boat. Read Less

We went on this cruise with my then 5 year old and 3 year old sons. Although they aren't that into Disney specifically, we figured they'd enjoy the kids activities and we'd get some much needed adult time away. The short version is this: The Kids Club and Kids Activities were a big disappointment, particularly if you have [stereotypical] boys. KIDS CLUB --- Wow, what a miss that was! Honestly, it's pretty shockingly bad. It's not like it was atrocious -- more that it was boring and really, really didn't need to be. And that's what gets me. $300 of supplies and it could have been *fun* for all kids. The Good: the facility seemed clean and the staff was attentive. It wasn't packed, and we could basically always get a spot. The Bad: There was nothing really for my kids to do in the kids club. My sons like building and art. There was essentially nothing to build with. There were no legos, nothing like that. All they could really do was draw. And that only occupies them for so long. The other activities in the kids club were very structured games, and zoning out watching movies. None of these things interested my kids (and, by the way, boys tend to like structured games as much). OTHER ACTIVITIES -- The kids activities on the ship were pretty underwhelming. There were options and we went to them, but they were all pretty disappointing. For example, we went to some sort of pirate art activity. It turned out to be just coloring in a picture of a parrot, cutting it out, and then taping it to your shoulder. That's fine and all... but when all the activities are stuff like that, it gets pretty boring. There was of course a pool and slide, but those were always packed. Lots of Disney princess stuff. OTHER STUFF --- Other than the fact that the kids were bored (which is, um, a pretty darn big deal), everything else was fine. The cabin was fine (small, but it's a cruise, so that's to be expected). We made all the planned excursions. Castaway Cay was pretty cool -- definitely a highlight -- but a storm rolled in and shut that down early. A bummer for us, but certainly not Disney's fault. The food was hit or miss. There were one or two meals which were excellent, and a whole lot of others that weren't. Oh well. Honestly, we weren't expecting anything great here. FINAL CONCLUSION -- I think your kids need to be super into Disney and especially Disney princesses to enjoy this. The activities are pretty underwhelming in general, so their interest in Disney princess needs to be strong enough to OVERCOME an otherwise boring experience. This means that most boys are going to bored. Seriously, every time I look back on this experience, I can't help but think -- Disney, did you forget about boys? Literally half of all human children? How? But even putting that aside, I just don't see the cost justification for it. For the four of us, we spent about $1000 per night (of course, it was over new years). If I imagine a vacation where I'm budgeting $1000 per night, that's a lot of money. I could get 12 hours of babysitting per day (8am to 8pm at $20/hr --> $240), spend lavishly on food ($300 per day), and then STILL have lots of money left over for a nice hotel room at a nice resort. In fact, I'd walk away with MORE childcare, a nice room, and more flexibility in planning such a trip. So why pay for the Disney cruise? Read Less

This was our second sailing on the Magic and the service level continues to be excellent. We were in 2620 which was a bit noisier on port days due to being over one of the entrances to port, although it was not intolerable, I would probably pick a different cabin on 2 next time. We loved the Rapunzel's Royal Table update which was new since our last sailing (although we also loved Carioca's). The Adult Entertainment leader, Matt, was hilarious and made us want to return every evening! Our dining team of Anthony and Stilyan was phenomenal and made us feel special every evening (as well as delivering excellent food!) One change that I didn't love in dining was that they included only 3 of the featured breads every evening (we had 4 people at the table). The servers got us an additional one when asked, but it seems odd that the bundles the kitchen made up would have 4 dinner rolls and 3 special breads. In previous sailings it was all specialty bread and no rolls, which we preferred. We can have dinner rolls anywhere. Again, the servers made it right, but they should not have had to go to the extra effort every night. Our boys, 12 and 14, enjoyed their time in Edge and Vibe and met several friends that they hung out with when not with us. We visited Key West and Castaway Cay. Key West was very accessible, lots of fun things to do in walking distance (we did not book excursions, but explored on our own), and Castaway Cay was beautiful although weather prevented us from doing our booked excursion of parasailing (this can't be done if winds are too high, which seems to be fairly common to be cancelled at this location due to wind, just to manage expectations. If it is cancelled, Disney does not charge you for it at their island...just be aware its probably 50/50 on being able to do it, at least in January when we usually go). Our only issue on the trip this time was that they assigned our kids' photos to the wrong key to the world cards which caused an issue on embarkation (and would have also caused issues on the ship) which ended up causing us a delay getting on the ship. the check-in team really should ask which kid is which instead of assigning them without asking. We worried about having a 5 year old and 1 year old in the same room with us, but the overall experience was designed for families like ours! Also, I loved that we walked straight on at the time we were designated. Fastest embarkation I've ever experienced. Cabin: There was a curtain to separate the room for naps and at night. The stateroom had a porthole and the kids beds were placed away from the door/toilets, which was a great when they went to bed, because we could look at the next days activities and use the bathroom etc. The crib was in the room upon arrival, along with a "diaper genie" to keep the smelly stuff under wraps. It seriously was the little things. The stateroom host was a very helpful and happy gentleman. Nursery: We booked the Nursery for the 1 year old every night during dinner and the show. It was amazing. The staff take your diaper bag, will feed the kids traditional snacks or meals, whatever you allow at the time the child is dropped off. They will also feed them your own snacks. If the child is going to be staying in the Nursery past bedtime, the staff will attempt to put them to bed with whatever is needed. They also message you in the nap if the baby is a "little upset" or "upset." Cannot thank them enough. They were amazing. Kids Club (Oceaneers Lab/Club): Our 5 year old loved the kids club and would go there at any spare moment we let him. The staff were very attentive and played with the kids. One time I came to collect him, one counselor was playing "Connect 4" just with him. I'm not sure he gets that type of attention at school, let alone a busy kids club on a cruise. They had various crafts and activities throughout the cruise, as well as shows and iPads or video games. You can't limit their screen time in the club, unless your child has the willpower and ability to self-regulate. :) Food: We went to Palo one night and were not embarrassed to order two mains and two souffles each! If nothing else, CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE! Seriously. Don't second guess. You will love it. The main dining rooms were awesome. We had done the Disney Wonder before and knew we liked the Animators Palate. But, we really enjoyed Rapunzel's! It's a new dining experience and it was awesome. They had a mini show and came to visit the table. Fantastic! Really enjoyed our wait staff. They were great. Entertainment: We are certified Disney-philes, so the shows were amazing. Apart from the timing (we did it late), they were very family friendly and had the kids (and adults) all the way through. Blown away by the talent of the cast, who played multiple roles throughout the cruise. We had the Tangled Show, the Cinderella show and the Finale Princess mash-up. We also did the magician one night, which was entertaining too. We did trivia a few of the days and that was good too. There was a "Toddler time" that I took the 1 year old to, it's kind of like a playgroup. Very informal, but introduced me to the Promenade lounge kids area. It was good. Ports: We missed Key West due to weather and only did Castaway Cay and Nassau. Enjoyed them both and didn't venture out much, except to walk to the Chocolate Factory at Grayclif. Worth the walk, didn't need to taxi or do an excursion there. Gym: Used the gym every day around 6.30am and it was awesome. Not too crowded and all the main stuff you need. All-in-all, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to any family considering a Disney cruise!! Read Less

We Have cruised on all of the popular cruise lines and are Diamond Club members on Royal Caribbean. As a college student, I worked for three summers on Passenger Liners. Having five (5) grandchildren and a fortieth wedding anniversary, we were treated to a Disney Cruise by my daughter and her husband. This was my son-in-law's first cruise. My son and his family were also invited. The cabin, a suite, was very impressive (see below for further details). The Concierge staff was excellent. They couldn't do enough. The Concierge lounge had a very good selection of light foods and drinks. The regular dining rooms were a big disappointment. For the price of this cruise, the dinners were average. The first night, we were unable to cut the steaks. We tried two different types. For some reason, the Lumiere Dining Room had somewhat better food. The service in the dining rooms was very good. The Fee Dining Restaurant, Palo, was superb. The food was delicious and the service was excellent ( they refused a separate gratuity). The Gym had excellent equipment and a very attentive staff. However, whenever I went, it was practically empty. The outside deck (4?) was made of wood and a favorite place to walk or run. My grandchildren loved the Disney characters and shows. My daughter thought that the Musicals were "Broadway Quality." The entertainment was not geared to adults. Disney Cay was the best of the private islands that we have visited. The cabana was very worthwhile. The Barbecue was your usual cruise line fare. I have been visiting Nassau for 50 years. Bay Street needs some improvement. Atlantis has become a "city" and isn't the luxury resort that it used to be. My grandchildren liked the water park there. Key West has become very commercial. Docking at the Naval Base is like being in a separate country. You are not allowed to walk around and they check you when enter on the shuttle. Docking downtown is preferable. The Service was top flight. Despite being 20 years old, the ship was spotless. Embarkation and Disembarkation were very smooth and efficient. My grandchildren loved this cruise: The food, entertainment and the Disney Characters. The oldest's (5) favorite place was the Concierge Lounge. Even the one year old missed the cruise. As a Group, we had a wonderful time (due to the children). We would consider going again; if they improved the food, added entertainment for grown-ups and they moved one of their other ships to Miami. Read Less

Here are 10 Quick Things You need to know 1. This ship is over 20 years old and it shows. From rusty spots on the balconies to musty smells in the rooms, this ship is definitely showing it's age. 2. The dinner food is mediocre. It's served lukewarm because they're serving hundreds of people at once so chances are your food was waiting to be delivered to your table while they got all the dishes ready. 3. The Staff is amazing and they definitely take service to the next level. 4. Bring you're own camera for the character photos. The staff will use your camera and take one with the cruise photographer's camera. Their digital photos cost $250 for 20 photos. At such a ridiculous price it makes no sense to purchase their photos if you have a good camera. In fact this may justify getting a good camera if you want lots of pictures with characters and princesses. 5. If you have a stop at Walt Disney World link your tickets and book your FastPasses 6 months in advance if possible. 6. The character breakfasts and excursions book up early. You need to book those events the minute they become available. 7. You don't need to book character photo experiences because there will be an opportunity to take a photo with almost every character at some point and time as long as your willing to wait in line for 30mins to an hour. 8. Everything is billed to your credit card so no need to bring cash unless you are going to Disney World. Then bring all the cash you can, because that place is expensive. 9. Download the Disney Cruise App before you board. The cruise Wifi is overpriced and slow. They will give you 50MB free if you stop by Guest Services on the first day but that disappears quickly. You can see your 50MB just trickling away on their app even when you aren't doing anything. 10. The pools and hot tubs are small. The first day the family pool was full of kids and parents to the point where you could barely move. At the same time the adult pool had 3 people in it with room for 40 more. Read Less

First Disney Cruise, 3rd cruise overall, first time Concierge service, ship was in great shape since it's the 1st one to sail. Will be very hard if we sail again not to get Concierge service. Our Concierge team of Alina, Emannela and Nicky were fantastic, there for every need. Our Serving team of Hilash Harinath, Cornel Besoi and Dumitru Cabut were all great and finally our stateroom host Flore Mihai always had a smile on her face and helpful. As for the Cruise leaving N.Y. In Nov on Sat. was a little chilly didn't start to feel warmer till Monday. My step-daughter & granddaughter finally got to use the pool & hot tub by then. Tuesday we arrived at Castaway Cay which was beautiful, Temp was about 85 but windy so no feeding the stingrays, wind surfing and jet ski's, but still had a great time in the water. We also had a Cabana #12, very close to the restrooms and not too far from the food. Then Wed. on to WDW again very warm and very crowded (Magic Kingdom). Back on ship early, Thurs. was Pirate Night and show was very good including the fireworks, was surprised it wasn't moved inside because the sea was a little rough. Overall really nothing bad to say about the cruise at all. My family on the other hand was a different story. Never had breakfast other than in the cabin so it was boxed cereal and Danish etc. Went to Concierge Lounge a few times for coffee and finger sandwiches and desserts. Not to sound harsh but don't bring anyone who can't get around very well, needed me to hold on to even with a cane. Granddaughter had a great time but could never get off the phone and play games. She did join the tweens club and went there a few times and did say she had a good time why she didn't go more I don't know. Also don't bring someone who doesn't like crowds, our day at WDW was very crowded and warm. We arrived at WDW about 9:30 am, then went thru security which took way too long need more agents, so it was about 10am by the time we got into the park, by 1:30 our granddaughter was ready to leave are you kidding me (10 yrs old) Used our 3 V.I.P. passes in no time so only went on 3 rides, Haunted Mansion, Pirates and Splash Mountain, that's it so WDW was a waste. Never saw Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. Got to see the new movie "The Nutcracker" was ok not one of Disney's best. Never went to any shows, pretty much stayed in the cabin # 8534 which was very nice but at times heard people running on deck 9 so if you don't mind a little noise here and there then cabin is ok. Sat out on the Verandah only 2 - 3 times another waste and finally dinner, you have dinner at 3 different restaurants, well we went to each restaurant just 1 time each so the other nights we ate in our cabin. So overall for all the money spent it wasn't worth it. Would I go again, yes just with different people. Read Less

We took our 8 year old grand diva on the Disney Magic. We are young grandparents (49/47) So I believe we were more excited then she may have been. From the VERY beginning Disney was a First Class Act. From Check In to Check Out. Everything went smoothly. I was so nervous how she would do with the wait and the crowd prior to boarding. Disney had it all covered. Characters Characters Characters. The entire Staff made sure once we hit the pier, we didn't have to worry about a thing. They took such great care of us. The staff was amazing. Your Servers will become your best friends the entire cruise. If you lucky enough to get VICTOR, you will walk away with many many great memories for sure. I was extremely pleased with the rotation of the dining. Every dining room was amazing and they remember everything about you. What you like, what you cant eat and what you what 2 helpings of each day. Shows Shows Shows. WOW!. Food Food Food WOW! If you can, get a stateroom with a Verandah. Portside. You will not be disappointed EVER. If you twisted my arm to give 1 thing which I was less happy - it would be the breakfast buffets. Nothing really made me personally jump for joy BUT my grand diva loved it. Espec her Mickey waffles and Cereal. You cant go wrong with finding food you like. On Deck you can eat eat and eat some more.(or get 100 ice cream cones like me hehe - real soft serve) We all had an amazing time! I see why people continue traveling with disney. I would for sure try a different ship and go again. Disney, Job Well Done! Read Less

We had concierge suite 8582 and it was the most beautiful suite we have ever seen or stayed in. It was impeccably clean and and kept that way all 5 days. There was never a disappointment with the turn-down service or anything else related to the stateroom. If you are fortunate enough to have Andrae as your wait service staff in the dining rooms you will never be disappointed. He made our granddaughter feel special and, for us, that's what we were looking for. He is such a hard worker and it is apparent that he strives to make you leave the dining room happier than when you came in. All of the food we had was just out of this world. Speaking of happy; Andy from concierge was SO amazing! I wish I could remember the names of the young ladies in concierge because they were all so happy and willing to assist in any way they could to make you feel like you were the only people on that ship. I don't understand how they did that with 2,000 other people on it, but they did! Again...Andy, ladies, I can't thank you enough for making this first Disney Cruise for us so special. Rina from the spa, thank you for giving me the most relaxing 2 hours I've had in a long time. Ladies, I recommend you write her name down and make an appointment with her as soon as you board the ship. Her skills are amazing and she makes you feel like you've known her forever. There are two reasons I didn't give this experience 5 stars. The first is the character experience. I wish they could figure out a way to make the characters more accessible to the kids. With so many people, the lines were a mile long. The second reason is the swimming pools. There were so many people in the swimming pools that it was a place to get wet but no room to swim around. Kids were wall to wall. I don't know how it could be improved though. Neither of these things kept us from having an exceptional vacation. There is so much to do on the ship. My granddaughter LOVED the Royal Tea with the princesses. Please book ahead. It is an amazing experience...and bring your princess dress! Disney does such a great job making your little princes and princesses feel special. One can tell that a lot of thought goes into the experience for them. Read Less

I am a single mom with a 7 year old, and I have gushed to anyone that would listen that this was the happiest, most relaxed, and most stress free vacation that I have ever taken!!! Disney sat us at a dining table with other single parents and kids my daughter's age. We had three moms, 1 dad, and four 7-9 year olds. The shows, the room, the boat, the character meet and greets, the kids club and Castaway Cay were AWESOME! My daughter loved the splash pad area on the ship (she's not into slides yet), and I loved relaxing with my book. Restaurants/Food: We had so much fun in Animators Palate guessing which cartoon would be drawn next. We liked the new Tangled restaurant as well; however, we were seated in the back so it was hard to see the characters on stage. They did roam around though and were hilarious when they stopped at our table. So that was fun! The food was good. there was a good selection at the buffet thought sometimes I had to eat it lukewarm by the time I got to my table (but that is just buffet eating). Some was fine, other items were so yummy. My daughter is a picky eater, so when I say that all she ate was fruit loops, mickey waffles, watermelon, macaroni and cheese, and dessert (mainly ice cream bars), I'm not kidding. That's what she ate for 4 days! haha But we were on vacation, so whatever. My two favorite dinners were when I ordered steak. Yum! Character Meet and Greets: We liked that they were all times during the day and the lines really weren't that bad. We had tickets (you didn't pay for them, but needed them) for the princess meet and greet. However, there was a time we caught Cinderella roaming in the main lobby. And we had fun getting our picture with Mickey and Minnie in their many outfits. (I think they packed as much as I did.) The last night lots of characters and people from the different shows came down and stood at different places on each level and you could go get your picture with whoever. THE BEST was Captain Jack Sparrow. Of course, I realized at Disney World long ago that the people characters are the best and so much fun. He was awesome!!! And the best part was the next day when we had been out and gotten back to our room there was a letter from Captain Jack for my daughter and it even mentioned two or three things that they discussed. So neat! Castaway Cay: It was my favorite. I could have done two days there. So relaxing! I'm wishing I was in one of those hammocks right now. the only downer was many excursions were cancelled that day due to the wind, but we still enjoyed ourselves! Kids Clubs: My daughter loved going. We were usually so busy during the day that she only went after dinner. On our sea day, she went some in the afternoon. I always felt comfortable leaving her. She seemed to enjoy herself, though all I ever saw her doing was the IPAD games! LOL My daughter has never hugged and kissed me so randomly all throughout a day before. All day long, she would just lean over and kiss me. She was so happy!!!! she said, "It was the best spring break of my life!" haha Everyone asks what I think about the price in regards to the experience.....well, as a single mom, it was tough. It was saving and asking for Disney gift cards for birthdays and Christmas. But the only thing I have thought about the price since getting back is that we are going on a 5 or 7 day next time! I even went ahead and held a spot for another one while on board. For $250 (which will go toward your next cruise), you have 2 years to book, and you get 10% off and a $200 stateroom credit. So, my daughter and I have already started saving for spring break 2020! Read Less

Having done my last 3 trips on Carnival and Previous to the on Royal Caribbean was very much looking forward to Disney cruise having heard so many positive things about service and experience. While we enjoyed our trip very little impressed us about Disney. Water Park: Aquduck was very fun and lines were never to long even on a sold out ship Pool not having salt water was nice as well. Dinning: We felt dinner was on par with Carnival, buffet edge went to Disney both on food and having shorter wait times not sure if that was Disney or just a smaller ship that previous sailings Cabin: Traveling with the family split bathroom was nice room. Cabin had broken shower, malfunctioning toilet, and blue water dripping for an AC flood more on that later. Did not take a hot shower once on trip. Luke warm was best. Childrens Club: Lots of great activities for kids, was a step up from previous experiences. Entertainment: Seats in movie theater we to narrow to sit in making watching move impossible. Live shows were Fantastic one area they blew away other trips. Customer Service: Was poor at best. Massive leak took AC out in some areas had to dry clean clothing due to blue water leaking from cabin and hallway. Guest services was either border line rude to apathetic. Water come leaked for 2 of our 5 days. Repair and clean up started at 7AM waking us up 2 days in a row. As different crews argued who's responsibility it was. On every previous trip Cabin stewards know our our family's name and pleasantly greeted us in the hallway not the case on this trip was badgered while trying to get off the ship to confirm out shower had been fixed even after explaining to him we were going to miss our excursion. Disembarkation: Was smooth and pleasant set up time and breakfast was nice touch over other ships. Maybe my expectations were to high having read up about Disney experience and paying 2x times what 8 day Vista trip cost. But would not go back on a Disney Cruise again. While a couple things were nice i was longing for the enjoyment of my previous Carnival trips. Looking forward to trying one of the new RC trips next cruise. Read Less

I had heard such wonderful things about Disney cruises so wanted to give them a try. As far as cruise ships go, it was a nice ship, but not any more special than other cruise ships. The extras of Disney are the quality shows in the evening and the personal touch they give like the announcement when you board the ship. The negatives are that the pool is extremely small and the waterslides are just okay. There was no rock wall or extra activities such as a mini golf course as are on other ships. It is the best bet if you are looking for character interaction for your children. Embarkation went well, but the disembarkation was not smooth at all. It turned into a free for all after breakfast and the lines were crazy long. People were cranky having to wait. I prefer other times where each color is called at a certain time. Overall a nice time and would consider going again for the kids. Read Less
