I am a lifelong Disney fan, so I had great expectations for my first Disney cruise, My wife & I, both in our mid-50's, thought it would be similar to a land vacation at Disney- first class accommodations, fine dining, Broadway calibre shows, etc with the added nuance of a cruise. I think if I hadn't had my Disney blinders on, I could've foreseen the problems and not made such an expensive ...
Pros: We were treated very well by most employees and overall service was far superior than all other cruises we have done. The rooms were huge and very nicely appointed compared to ALL other cruises. Inside room with virtual window and animation was a lot of fun to watch. The phone app was great to refer to, but not everything was found in the app. Shows were as good or better than Broadway ...
Do NOT waste your money on a Disney Cruise!!! I thought it would be a spectacular trip, but to my dismay, it was an overpriced joke! We were moved staterooms last minute...after specifically picking the state room that we wanted (which was fine, I could deal with that) BUT if you are going to move someone's stateroom last minute, I would think DISNEY would at least get the room decorated the way ...
This was my first ever cruise. Family of 4 (kids 2 and 6).
Embarkation: Not too bad, but we were very rushed. Our time to get on the ship was close to 2 pm which I think was the latest group time assigned. That left almost no time to start to get familiar with the ship before the mandatory safety drill at 4 pm.
The safety drill, while necessary, is painful and long. Finally about 5 pm we ...
We have always heard that Disney Cruises were the best so we had to experience it for ourselves. It was a nice ship, friendly staff and overall a nice cruise. Overall we felt that it was not worth the money for our family. We have enjoyed our Carnival cruises just as well and they are almost half the price. I will say that our children did seem to prefer the Disney Kids Clubs to that of ...
Wanted to experience the adult side of Disney cruising. Was a magical cruise. Many Adult activities if you wished and adult areas. The dining was great with a serving staff that went above and beyond any and all requests and our table mates made a very pleasant dining experience.
The excursion in Tortola.. we chose TT11 was ok. The port what we docked at in St Thomas was very nice. The shops ...
We just returned from our trip aboard the Disney Fantasy. We hosted our 2nd family cruise & for the most part, it went off without a hitch. The embarkation went very smoothly & the sail away activity was wonderful. We were able to admire the Disney Wonder in Port Canaveral from the Fantasy before it left for refurbishment.
This was my 5th cruise & I will say that the quality standards ...
This entire review is written from an Adults Only perspective, we do not have children.
We recently completed our first Disney Cruise aboard the Fantasy and we were excited to see what the “Disney Experience” was all about. We’re seasoned cruisers with this being our 7th cruise aboard 5 different cruise lines; Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and now Disney. This was an ...
Just got home after spending 3 nights onboard the Disney Dream. Our group of 13 had an infant, children, teenagers, parents, grandparents and married couple without children. Our first Disney cruise was mostly positive. The value for money is good and the variety of activities was excellent for our mixed group.
The ship is well laid out, and comfortable once you are at any area. Our staterooms ...
Day 1 - Port Canaveral
Travel to Embarkation Port
I flew into Tampa 9/8 to stay the night with my friends Andrea & Jennifer at their house in St. Petersburg. On 9/9, we drove from St. Petersburg leaving at 8:00am. Arrived at port 10:30 am - we had some traffic issues getting out of Tampa area and there are 3 or 4 toll plazas on State Road 528. Plus there was a bit of a wait at the port to ...
