An expensive disappointment

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Disney Wonder

We are a family of 4, with 2 younger children (22mo & 4.5). We love to travel and have travelled 3 or more times a year but never on a cruise. We thought it’s a great way to visit Alaska! We paid A LOT of money and it’s such a great big disappointment. Wish we found this website before we booked! Good: - Food was good at sit down restaurants. Lots of options at buffet (breakfast & lunch ...

FOR DISNEY there were several things that just missed the mark....

In an effort to get our families to experience more of the world than just the Caribbean, we decided to book an Alaskan cruise. We are 2 families who cruise together regularly (moms are cousins) and this time we both invited our parents to come along and see what we've been raving about for so many Disney cruises now. One family has 5 kids (20, 19, 9, 6, and 3) and the other has 2 kids (11 and ...

Not great for kids under 8

We figured Disney would be great with kids considering the characters, shows and kids club. We have a 7, 5 and 2 year old. No previous cruise experience. Many kid friendly resorts though. So on the criteria of characters, shows and kids club. Characters, Disney comes through. No complaints. If you have kids who love princesses, ignore the rest of this review and just go. We have 3 boys, ...

Not as Great as the First Time

This is my second Disney cruise - my first one was on Disney Magic in 2007. The productions shows are second to none...they really do an amazing job on those. The service was, as before, spectacular. The staff works very hard to ensure everyone does a great job and they do a superb job at it....I applaud them. But the trip felt very....deja vu. It was great the first time, but not as ...

After much anticipation, we boarded the Disney Magic on March 27th, Easter Sunday, for a 4-day cruise to Castaway Cay and the Bahamas. Boarding was smooth and the quality of the food at lunch - a buffet - was excellent. The cabin was a little cramped - since it was supposed to accommodate up to 5 people - luckily we were a party of 4, but the cabin was clean and the separate shower and ...

This was a trip of a life-time. The first for most of my expended family. My young family loved our 4 day cruise on Disney Wonder in 2015. It was magical. So we got adjoining staterooms for my parents and my sister and her young family and paid for a 7 night cruise. We've never had a holiday together like this before and I was so thrilled to introduce them to cruising and with Disney I figured it ...

Disney Wonder for Adults; Meh!

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Disney Wonder

Disney Cruises appears to be trying to attract an "older crowd", meaning older than 6 maybe, not sure of the definition. So we thought we'd try it. We have about 10 cruises under our collective adult belts. Let's start with the plusses. Food - Remarkably good relative to other cruises. In fact, we felt the food was better than the food on any cruise we have taken after 1990 (before that, ...

Great for Kids, Not So Much for Adults

First of all, this is a grand traditional ship. Second, Disney does what Disney does, it delivers a first rate experience for the youngster crowds. They replaced the casino, like they do on all of their ships, with a deck dedicated for kids activities, grouped by age. What they did not do is fleshout their experiences for the adult cruisers. Entertainment is Broadwayesque, Disney G-rated. ...

Great for the grandsons, but not for me

This cruise is great for all the children that loves everything about Disney, however for the price, I rather be in a Oceanic cruise. The positives are that the entertainment is better than most cruises. You get to see all the Disney movies, including first run features. There are plenty of things to entertain the kids. The negatives are that there are no variety in the foods, For kids - mac ...

Doesn't worth the money

Things we like: Great food. We went to Triton (French cuisine) as much as we could. Other restaurants equally good. Stay away from the fast food on Deck 9 though - very low quality. Staff. Our room service and restaurant servers were amazing. We added more cash tips for them in the end. Other staff we met in the hallway or other locations seemed genuinely love kids and super friendly. The View. ...
