This was our seventh cruise, and first on Cunard. We are mid 40s and chose this cruise because we like a more formal experience and it was an anniversary. We were in Queens Grill in the Q6 suite.
Overall, Cunard clearly understand their audience. The cruise is not typical, and is far more sedate than many cruise lines. However, what they aim to do they deliver. I had been cautious about booking ...
We embarked on the Queen Victoria in Venice after spending a few days of our honeymoon in a delightful little hotel. What annoyed us the most about the embarkation process was the fact that there was absolutely no communication, help or advice from Cunard about how we should find the ship! We saw a Cunard tender boat and assumed we could hop on and board ship this way, but we were told we had to ...
We initially chose this cruise because it was visiting three ports in the Black Sea, unfortunately due to the issues in the Ukraine this part of the cruise was changed. The replacement ports to be honest were less than adequate and places we had been to on previous occasions. The most disappointing part on not going into the Black Sea was that we received assurances from Cunard (who called us ...
Venice airport and transfer, chaos. Ship lovely, class above most other cruise lines. Entertainment good, to our taste.
Cabin good, crew friendly and service first class.
Breakfast and lunch food in Lido, bars good and pianist plus canapés in the Commodore bar a great way to start the evening.
Do you feel a but coming ?
This was our 15th cruise having been on most cruise lines , ...
We chose Cunard because my wife loves the many formal nights, and we both really enjoy ballroom dancing in the Queens room.
The service and the professionalism on the Queen Victoria was excellent. I've have never experienced better on the many cruise lines I've been on. Only Celebrity was as good.
Our cabin was sufficient. The only negative things were the poor selection of TV programs and ...
We flew to Venice and spent a couple of days at the Best Western Hotel Bologna in Mestre Venice - an ideal place to stay to explore Venice itself which is only a ten minute train ride from station right across from hotel. The hotel is also ideal for transport from airport and again to cruise terminal. The hotel will organise transport. No lugging cases around Venice!!
The check in at cruise ...

Hi. I am a ...
Just returned from two weeks on the Queen Victoria, cruise started in Venice and ended up 14 nights later in Athens.
I have to say I was very disappointed in many aspects of the cruise, working in a safety environment I have to say that there were several significant safety concerns, from stood in the corridor debating with the cabin stewards about their reluctance for us to be shown the ...
First, we enjoyed the cruise, as much for its amazing itinerary as anyhting else. The Greek and Turkish ancient (Greek/Roman) history that we learned so much about as kids, came to life.
The ship itself is really nice, a good size, comfortable and with excellent spaces. Food in the dining room was first class, although the menu each night is quite limited and needs expanding by adding a few ...
I have cruised with lots of cruise lines and wanted to sail with Cunard. As I choose the itinerary before the ship the choice has never included Cunard as it was always so much more expensive. I know some of you may say you get what you pay for but it may not always be the case. So we saw a great deal, to places we wanted to go to and booked. The itinerary was fantastic. Starting in Venice, going ...
