My wife and I just did a week long round trip from Barcelona. After our NCL cruise in August it was night and day. were all well organized. Embarkation was the easiest we ever did. From arrival top being in our cabin was 13 minutes. Staff very pleasant. Room was clean and organized. We had service twice a day( a lesson for some other cruise lines). Our attendant was tops and pro active without ...

We sailed regularly with Cunard until 2018 so this was our first voyage for 5 years. It was a last minute booking 3 days before departure so a very hectic schedule arranging Insurance, parking , cat boarding and, of course packing. Unfortunately the usual converientl parking facilities were full so had to use a "Meet & Greet "service, which was not a very pleasant experience. We always prefer early ...

Pros: Booking in and boarding ship was very well organised, and we had no issues. Elegant ship in good repair with all of the facilities you would wish for. Excellent food at all levels and entertainment which caters for all. Cabin steward was attentive efficient and friendly. Public areas very clean and Queens Room especially very elegant and used a lot for dancing and concerts. Theater ...

This one week cruise, from 18-25 June, was our first since the autumn of 2019, when we were also on Queen Victoria. Itinerary This included four ports- La Coruña, Gijón, Bilbao and Cherbourg - and 2 sea days. The itinerary is being repeated later in the summer. The ports were all new to us - we didn’t do any tours, just stayed and explored locally. These were all pleasant places to spend ...

Cunard enjoys a reputation as a luxury cruise provider and the Queen Victoria (QV) is elegantly furnished throughout. I would accept that constant use is going to have an impact on the fabric of the ship but in general it is well maintained. Dining at the Princess Grill is excellent with very attentive staff, a good menu choice and a relaxing atmosphere. Other areas of the ship also offered ...

First time on QM2 - experience and impressions

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

I have just returned from a 14 night cruise around the Mediterranean on Queen Mary 2. Whilst we have travelled many times on Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria this was my first time on QM2. One cannot help but be impressed by the sheer size, spaciousness and quality of the interior of the ship, evoking the grandeur of past ocean-going liners. The Royal Court theatre is quite impressive ...

Princess grill 13 Feb 2022 to Lisbon. Our first time Cunard (after Seabourn , Azamara, Viking), and first time ex Southampton. Like others we were confused by the joining instructions. the "covid" tent is indeed hard to find in the docks area , and 2 miles/20 minutes from the QE terminal building. As grill guests you get "priority boarding" which was speedy and painless. She is apparently ...

First cruise back (post pandemic) and really enjoyed it!

We loved our first cruise back on Queen Elizabeth and thought the pandemic measures put in place were appropriate. Being tested before we could board the ship was scary but handled very efficiently. Service was great throughout the ship. Cabin steward was really efficient - so much so that we rarely saw him! Food in the Britannia restaurant exceeded our expectations. Food at Lido buffet was ...

First few days out of Southampton were quite choppy at sea and a lot of passengers appeared to be staying in their rooms. Ship movement prevented the acrobatic act from performing in the theatre and outside deck areas were closed. Thankfully, conditions improved once the ship had got past the Bay of Biscay and temperatures rose the closer we got to the Canaries. Meals in the main restaurant ...

We have travelled on QE before and QV. Both superb ships. This break was to have some winter Sun to islands we had been to before and liked. The arrival at Southampton docks was a bit disorganised. Cunard said to go into Gate 20 which was not a good idea as it's the Container port and there was only one sign to the screening area and that was much later; we did find it eventually by accident. It's ...
