We sailed 2 sectors on the world cruise in 2015. When an unbelievably cheap fare was offered for a trans--Pacific crossing we couldn't help ourselves. About 1,000 other Australians took up the offer and flew to Santiago to join Queen Mary 2 in Valparaiso. We were zonked out for several days due to the ten hour time shift but all came good as we headed towards Easter Island.

This was our second voyage with Cunard, the first ten years ago on the QE2 transAtlantic. Spouse and I have done 15 cruises with various lines in the past. Cunard offered a good deal and we took it to travel from Fort Lauderdale to Valparaiso, Chile on the Queen Mary 2. We were especially intrigued because QM2 is an ocean liner, the direct successor to the QE2.

We travelled on Queen Mary 2 from Southampton to Rio, via New York, Fort Lauderdale, Amber Cove, Barbados and Salvador, from January to February 2016. The ship then carried on with her World Cruise.
We thought the ship was mostly excellent throughout, although there were one or two worn areas of carpet and a cracked tile or two in the bathroom.
