Excellent itinerary 16 days Singapore to Tokyo. PRO'S - Staff good, cabin stewards great - food excellent in Princess Grills and Lido - theater shows very good - Talks overall good, Sally Gunnell was totally in command and interesting. Ship looked good after her paint job. CON'S - Never spoke with an officer, they never made eye contact and normal walked very quickly in two's. the Captain ...

Splendid ship but some failings

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Victoria

This was our first sailing on the Victoria and it really is a most impressive ship . We had booked Balcony Club as we prefer the availability of dining when we choose . Shortly before leaving we upgraded to Princess Grill and considered the larger suite and good sized balcony well worth the extra cost . We were not , however, impressed by the Princess Grill dining room . It is large and ...

35 Nights from Singapore to Southampton

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We have sailed many lines and Cunard definately has a different feel to the American lines despite US$s used onboard and US owned. There was not the constanr push to buy packages and alcohol was even allowed to be brought onboard but only for cabin use. The so called formal nights started at 10pm. We had a 6pm dinner so a long wait for the formal. We didn't bother with them. The formal dining room ...

Not value for money

Just been on board for 10 days and was pleased to get off, personally I found the food not to be 5 star, the buffet area, although the food was better, I likened it to a motorway dining area, with the seating arranged so people were walking around you while eating. We wanted to do our own thing when we docked instead of organised tours, the tour people were not interested in the least in helping. ...

Problems with level 6 and the Carinthia Lounge

Don't except, as we did, a guaranteed balcony grade instead of a state room number, as you will end up on deck 6. The pounding of feet runners and power walkers from above will wake you from 5.30 am on wards, whilst the dragging of deck lounges by the selfish few before 7 am grabbing their spot on their way to breakfast will insure there is now chance of returning to sleep! The quite ...

What makes Cunard so special?

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

My husband and I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. The embarkation process ran smoothly and we did not have to wait too long to board the ship in Singapore. We had a cabin near to mid-ship on Deck 4 with an obstructed view - i.e. there was a lifeboat right outside the window so we could only see the sky. The cabin itself was a nice size with two wardrobes and a few shelves. under ...

We are experienced cruises using many different cruise lines but this was the first time that we had used Cunard. The main reason was that two ports of call were in India which we had yet to visit. Singapore was as usual a delight have lived there in the past and visited on quite a few occasions. The check in was excellent within 20 minutes we were through all the formalities and on board the ship ...

Queen Mary 2, Singapore to Hong Kong

Review for a Asia Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Beautiful ship. Lovely and immaculate public areas. Excellent service. A comfortable cabin. But the food! It varied between poor and good, subject to the venue and the day. The so-called "King's Court" buffet area resembled an airport cafeteria, with frenzied diners who would have been better equipped with shovels, rather than knives and forks. The overly salty bread and rolls were in contrast to ...
