Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

This is not the quality product I thought I was paying for and would strongly advise people to avoid Cunard ships if you expect this to be a quality upmarket cruise company. Cunard are first class at the glossy branding and marketing but the product is very poor. In summary, you are on a British ship where the currency is dollars and most staff struggle with the English language; so if you have a ...

Disaster cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

Not been to Gurnsey before. Trip was a total disaster. Food was not as good as I could get in a greasy spoon but without the grease. We finished up by having toast & coffee in the the bedroom for breakfast & all other meals on board in the self service Lido. After complaining we were still charged the auto service for resturants of £96.00. One small brandy & beer cost £17.14. This was our third ...

Queen Elizabeth - Worst Cruise I have ever experienced

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

Whilst the destination was what we had hoped for, the Queen Elizabeth is a hopeless shambles. We chose Cunard as we have cruised on QM2 previously and that was superb in almost every way. On the QE, waiting staff appeared demoralised, the Pursers desk was a "cant do" attitude to anything you ask. The Tour desk handed out poor quality maps and information sheets that bore no resemblance to ...

Cunard Shape Up or Ship Out

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Our two night stay in the Marriot Marquis Dubai was a great success. We had a wonderful room with fantastic views and the food was excellent within the hotel especially the Indian Restaurant. We enjoyed the Miracle Gardens, the River Cruise the Mall and old Dubai. Even the coach tour on arrival was good but we were all very tired after such a long journey. We travelled with Imagine Cruising and ...

Never Again with Cunard!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Having previously cruised on the Queen Victoria and the Queen Elizabeth in 2013, I thought that I would 'complete the set' by joining the QM2 on the final leg of her 2016 World Cruise from Dubai to Southampton. How things have deteriorated in 3 years! My 2013 experience of Cunard was excellent service from friendly staff in all areas and excellent food - even during a Force 10 gale. Not ...

I mostly agree with the points raised in previous reviews so will not repeat them but will add a few more. The good first Roy walker, Kelly Holmes and some of the speakers were good. Tom O' connor was quite good but past his best Some of the shows were good but others not to our taste Cabin steward did his best but cabin shabby and sheltered balcony not clean clumps of hair and dirt ...

Passing through the Suez canal

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We chose the cruise as QM2 is the last ship of its type, also going through the Suez Canal. We ticked both of those boxes and that is the best we can say about the cruise. It was infact the worst cruise we have ever been on. Due to norovirus on ship we were refused entry to 2 ports and not allowed into Jordons waters. We have experienced this before but not on such a large scale, hundreds ...

Bitter Disappointment

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Embarkation & disembarkation went smoothly, however the ship was so disappointing. Cunard market the Queen Mary 2 as the Flag Ship of their fleet. It was shabby and showing its age. In the Britannia Restaurant, The Golden Lion Pub and some heavy traffic thoroughfares their were holes in the floor which were carpeted over. If wearing high heels the shoe heel often would bury itself in the hole ...

How can this famous cruise line have gone so low?

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Queen Victoria

Problems from the start. Ticketed as new cruisers when in fact it was cruise #3 for us , it took 3 visits to the pursers office (waiting in line) to correct that error. Even then, there was no way to ensure early dinner sitting, a requirement of our booking, yet never advised as a problem until we had been ticketed and fully paid up. Different table at most dinners. Did I say dinner? A sample ...

Worst Cruise in a Lifetime of Cruising

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Queen Victoria

User Avatar

10+ Cruises • Age 80s

This was the first half of the 2016 world cruise. The main problem was the entertainment staff. There was very little organised activities, and those that were were aimed at 6 year olds! These included a craft activity of making rubbings of a dollar to remember you had been to the USA. Initially there were in excess of 50 plus wanting to do a craft activity, at the end of the leg there were three ...
