We cruised recently on the Queen Mary 2 from Dubai to Hong Kong
Queen Mary 2 is a transatlantic ocean liner. She is the largest ocean liner ever built, having served as the flagship of the Cunard Line since succeeding the Queen Elizabeth 2 in 2004. As of 2019, Queen Mary 2 is the only passenger ship operating as an ocean liner.
A key point is that the Queen Mary as a liner travels the ...
Ship was top notch but passenger atmosphere was lacking. Cruise dedicated to older seniors and ship was more like a retirement village with the entertainment to suit this demographic. Definitely not suited to a single traveler even though I am older. Things did improve when Australians embarked in Fremantle. I did not eat at the Brittanica Restaurant because I prefer to eat when I feel like it and ...
If you have a Disability like me with wearing an Air-Cast Boot and partly blind with a cane the staff won't help you and not even at the terminal in Brooklyn, NY.
This was for embarkation and I was alone traveling.
The cabin was very nice and the Cabin boy I had was wonderful. He made sure everything was well stocked.
The Britannia Restaurant is very nice and my dinner companiens are ...
Whilst this was a short cruise to Belgium I do wonder if Cunard are even bothered about missed opportunities with "new to the brand" cruisers. We are 'suite' cruisers 2-3 times a year and in our 40's, surely a demographic the company might be keen to impress for our future cruise dollars?
As Queens Grill guests we were allowed to the front of the line but very little else to impress or ...
Just a little history ,this was our 41st Cruise and our 3 rd on The QM2 , we've cruised all the major Cruise lines ,from inside cabins to Owners suites ,So we pretty much know what to expect . We choose this cruise because it seemed like a good value and according to all the printed material we viewed online ,they were staying to 10 PM on 2 of our favorite Islands , St Maarten and Barbados . Having cruised well over 15 times as a couple (and Cunard Carnival cruises) let's start by saying that the pursers office had a very negative attitude, both in person and on the phone. The cost of drinks is extortionate I.e. a bottle of wine £5-6 uk over £40 on the ship plus 15 percent. Cost to us well over £350. The food is adequate at best the fish clearly cooked in a toaster. The speciality ...
I went on this ship with my grandmother as she loves cruising.
First impressions were good. The cabin was nice and the food was good.
I enjoyed the stops at Barcelona and Gibraltar.
Time on the ship however was where it slipped.
There was barely any activities or anything to do on the ship. The entertainment wasn't worth watching. This made days at sea unbearable. We spent most of the ...
I was SO bored. I don't fly so this was my only way of getting back from the US but it was deathly dull. The only good thing was how well it copes with rough seas - you would hardly know we were in a storm but it was just so dull, dull, dull. The foreign TV channels were showing blockbuster movies but the English film channel was showing deathly dull art house movies. The lectures were really ...
As experienced travelers, my retired friend and I looked forward to exploring the ports of call along Canada's maritime coast and the St. Lawrence River as described on Cunard's website. Unfortunately, the poor customer care which started with a 5 hour delay boarding the ship, continued throughout the cruise, even past disembarking.
The customer care generally provided on other cruise lines was ...
This is the first time we (a group of 20 seniors) cruised on one of the "Queen" ships and after hearing our friend's positive ratings on the Queen Mary, we were really looking forward to some good times on the QE. The embarkation process was swift and efficient.
The staff was friendly and informative. So a good start to the cruise.
When we reached our cabin, the room steward dropped by ...
