Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Victoria

I only have a few observations: Overall, the staff was genial and helpful My room steward was excellent, well trained and responsive. Bar service in the Chartroom was expert, cheerful and well trained; they ran out of my preferred brand. The competence of the Wine Waiters in Britannia was very uneven; some were excellent and others needed more training.I also perceived a shortage of ...

Never again with Cunard

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Victoria

Ox-eye daisy
First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

We went on the worldwide cruise with Cunard in Jan 2019 and have vowed never to cruise with this company again. The ship was tatty and the furnishing were mediocre. Air con was cold throughout the ship and you could not turn this off in your stateroom. It would have been nice to have been able to open our balcony door but if we did this the air con went into ‘overdrive’ and dripped. I am sure ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Victoria

This was our first Cunard experience, and we were not disappointed. We were on the first sector of the 2019 World Cruise; this would take us from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale, stopping at Bermuda and Port Canaveral. We were under no illusions with six sea days before the first port of call we would need to find plenty to do. Also, the North Atlantic in January could have been very rough ...

Meeting expectations (both good and bad)

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Victoria

Wearsapatch
6-10 Cruises • Age 60s

This was our third time on Cunard and our second on the Queen Victoria, so we had a good idea of what to expect: excellent service, excellent dancing and mediocre food. Our April cruise through the Panama Canal, from LA to Fort Lauderdale, met two of those three expectations. The service was indeed excellent. Every crew member we encountered was friendly and eager to help. Our cabin steward, ...

Trip from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Victoria

2-5 Cruises • Age 70s

Past experience with sailing on at Cunard Ships - Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary. I wanted to comment on the treatment we were given by our steward, Leo, our head waiter, Ryan, our waiter, Arnold (Arnie), and our assistant waiter, Dexter (Dex). We were totally treated by Leo in our cabin (there were 3 of us in 6197) - he asked us what he could do to help us but never was ...

Panama First Timers

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Victoria

Ocean waver
6-10 Cruises • Age 70s

We chose this cruise to combine three things. To revisit San Francisco, to cruise on QV for a second time, and to transit the Panama Canal. Overall we were not disappointed. Our 4th time overall with Cunard, they continue to provide a quality experience, for which we did, admittedly pay a high price. Suite, food, staff service, entertainment were excellent, as previously experienced. The ...

We joined the ship in Sydney, heading for Los Angeles, about 28 nights. We have been with Cunard on many cruises, but this was the longest cruise we have taken. Embarkation was quick and efficient. Our luggage was in our room before we arrived. The stateroom was wonderful, room 5097 in the Princess Grill. The food in the restaurant could not be faulted.Every meal was a treat, and the service we received ...

Beautiful ship, fantastic crew.

Since we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary, we wanted a special cruise and at the same time sample a Cunard ship. As we didn't see much of San Francisco and Hawaii when we visited six months prior this cruise gave us the chance to see both for longer. We enjoyed the activates on board, in particular darts and trivia's, the entertainment staff were the best we have ever ...

Cunard needs to shape up

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Victoria

Given that the cruise industry is becoming very competitive these days, we would have thought that Cunard would have tried to keep up with the other "luxury" lines. First the good: The embarkation process was very quick and trouble free and efficient. We were Princess Grill passengers and would have to say that we were pleased that we paid the extra for that privilege. The food was ...

By Far the Best of the 3 Cruises We Have Done

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Victoria

Mike Lowe
2-5 Cruises • Age 80s

We travelled with 2 other older couples, and thoroughly enjoyed Cunard's formula for enjoyable cruising. Compared with previous cruises, we were pleased that here were few children on board - must be showing our age! We have few complaints, although some minor suggestions for improvements. We had 5 formal nights, but being on the late dinner sitting we missed the celebrations for Ascot, etc. ...
