1-10 of 14 Cunard Queen Mary 2 (QM2) Cruise Reviews for Singles Cruises to the Canary Islands
Promoted by Imagine cruising 12 Night cruise taking in Lizbon,Cadiz and the canaries we booked especially to see the top headliners Russell Watson Jimmy Tarbuck and Lulu.
new regulations due to Covid meant a long queue to be tested before embarking and a wait in reception until you were pinged on your phone to get on board.
The ship was immaculate decorated for Christmas and spotless ...
We saw this cruise advertised by Imagine cruising who had chartered Queen Mary after covid restrictions forced her scheduled restart to be delayed. We were keen to sail again and the thought of some winter sun was enticing.
Pre sailing the online form filling was tedious and the arrival of a new variant of covid and subsequent media noise created more of it and raised stress levels.
On the ...
Embarking RMS QM2 in Southampton on December 3 for the 12-night cruise to the Canaries, this trip sets a record in my cruising life of 20-plus years in that I spent 32 nights in a single ship during 2015. The last trip was in January Southampton to Dubai and I was somewhat surprised that some restaurant staff greeted me for a 'welcome back', unusual for a ship this capacity while usual on ...
This was our first time on Cunard. We embarked the QM2 in Cape Town which was shambles due to large number os people embarking and a colour blind co-ordinator. We were offered tea, coffee & biscuits but some lunch would have been nice, even if only a sandwich. The ship itself is a bit tired but everything was clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were cheerful, helpful and ...
We have done a couple of other cruises with Thomson before and was wondering what to expect with Cunard. The Queen Mary 2 was the friendliest ship we have ever sailed on. We got to Southampton an hour and a half before out allocated time and was allowed straight aboard. Our cases where already waiting at our cabin. The staff on the ship could not do enough for you and were so friendly. The food ...
The cruise was ok, not fabulous as I was expecting. The book in was good, no problems apart from loosing a case for a short while. The Kings Court food hall or as I would describe it canteen was poor throughout. Food was at best slightly warm, staff surly, food usually cold and overcooked. The Nova virus meant that everyone had to be served. That meant rationing, I challenged the tiny portions and ...
Following a 12 night trip on the Queen Mary 2 to the Canary Islands my wife and I feel impelled to express our concern about falling standards on Cunard's flagship. This was our fifth trip on the QM2 and we feel that the ambience of the ship has deteriorated from five to three-star.
We twice had to summon a plumber when the flush mechanism failed on our cabin toilet, the second time as my wife ...
Well it has been a while but I thought to write a review anyway! It was all about two weeks of relaxation and getting spoiled from the great “ White Star Service” as Cunard calls their Service rules.
This cruise took place December 2013 ! From Southampton to Southampton! Canary Islands!
Pre Cruise stay:
Prior the cruise I stayed three night in The Goring, London- Belgravia!
Now THAT was an ...
I Bid for a charity cruise from Southampton to Tenerife and back which was kindly donated by Cunard. It was the 1st time I had sailed from here as my only other time was out of New York to the Caribbean which we enjoyed ever so much we had such a great Time so when we got told we had won,not only was I surprised but I thought we will have a great time like we did last time ,memories etc.
Well it ...
Somewhat disappointed with our cruise on the QM2. We never eat in buffets so were limited for choice for lunch on embarkation day, to their Sir Samuel’s café. Nice coffee ( charged for) very limited snacks. On the matter of food the servers in the Britannia restaurant, in the main, had no clue as to table etiquette, leaning across guests, not serving or retrieving plates from the correct sides. ...
