Don't be frightened by this review. If you have already booked, you will not have a bad time on this cruise ship. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. HOWEVER, if you have not already booked, I suggest you consider another ship.

We chose this cruise because it ended in Sydney where we spent a week with relatives. In 2017 we did a similar cruise on the same ship which started in Sydney and ended in Hong Kong. The voyage was bought in August 2017 for a February-March 2018 Sydney to Sydney via NZ, 13 nights. The itinerary date above says Auckland 9 nights, wasn't an option as Auckland was off the itinerary anyway and we had two days in Tauranga instead.

This was our first cruise since the ship was refitted in late 2016, just after we did the Cape Horn cruise on her. I enjoy the short coastal cruises offered by Cunard. They allow me to escape from my otherwise busy schedule. The uncrowded feel of an ocean liner rather than the glitz of a cruise ship is the most appealing aspect of the Cunard offering.
