"My 60th present too myself. A week on QM2. So excited. Room lovely and cabin crew and waitress in dining room lovely. Loved the fact that they had gentlemen dancers for the ladies to dance with in the Queens..."Read More
1-10 of 150 Cunard Queen Mary 2 (QM2) Cruise Reviews for Luxury Cruises to Europe
I wish we had been told this was a "Stars at Sea, David Garrett" cruise when we booked it. David Garrett is a German violinist who plays Metallica and ACDC to the violin (plus some other stuff). He has a small bunch of German fans who are crazy about him. The problem was I was expecting the usual Queen Mary 2 shows to be performed and had no idea that that wouldn't be happening. Instead, David ...
Total disappointment in the main dinning room Britannia (1) We are a party of six, setting of tables was unreasonably tight between tables. One end of our table was against a wall, waiters had to squeeze themselves to serve, particularly to the guest at the end.
(2) Menu was not appealing, its quality below average standard, most food on the menu remained unchanged throughout the voyage ...
We were on QM2 for the 21-day roundtrip cruise from NYC to Norway. This was our first voyage back on QM2 since the refit. She received a very nice face-lift along with improvements in food and cabins. (A few quibbles will be noted)
Top 5 things both husband & I liked:
Food across the venues was very good to fantastic.
Party band (Purple Haze) played fun mix of funky Motown, disco and ...
Tried this same cruise last year but bas weather cut the itinerary so decided to try again. Weather this time was sunny in all ports, scenery was spectacular. Yes there was a force 9 gale on the final day but on this ship you would hardly have noticed it. Being a transatlantic liner there was hardly any movement so if you are concerned about sea sickness this is the ship to try. The cabin being an ...
Second time on QM2 & first since a supposed re-furbishment.
As always Cunard smugly bang on about their heritage with artefacts & pictures everywhere yet overall the Cunard experience whilst generally very good it's not 'that' special.
Cabin immaculate except that the wooden ornamental balcony railing had come adrift from its metal frame.
As to be expected public areas including lounge & ...
We wanted to sali on QM2 for a very long time, and 5 day cruise from Hamburg was a great opportunity.
First glimpse of her at cruise terminal and already: wow!
Ship makes very good first impression, its grand, elegant, with golden age liner look.
A rare view comparing to other ships nowadays.
Very, very smoth and very fast.
It tooks us 35 min from entering terminal ...
My first impressions began with late lunch on embarkation day in Kings Court. Dodging employees with food carts, they didn’t give way for guests - to the point of being dangerous. Good food selections available, although meat over cooked to toughness.
First day party impressive poolside and music was excellent as we watched NYC fade away.
Our eight-person seating companions at dinner each ...
I’ll keep this short as I find I stop reading if people write to much. In bullet point fashion.
Cabin steward: absolutely marvellous and they always are.
Ship: a bit tired looking, could do with new carpets and paint etc.
Staff: reception: awful. If a smile is all your after, that’s all you will get. They really are dreadful.
Waiting staff: at breakfast they ...
I choose a transatlantic cruise onboard the magnificent QM2 which departed New York in mid June. I was looking for a complete break after a particularly hectic period and couldn’t have imagined how thoroughly revitalising the experience would end up being.
I travelled solo and was amazed at the sheer quantity and variety of things to do - along with the choice to do as much or as little as you ...
As someone who always believed inside cabins were sufficient I was dazzled by my first time in a suite (albeit the smallest suite possible). Still, a walk-in closet on a ship and a bathtub! We really enjoyed our cabin and our roomy balcony, having breakfast on the balcony almost every day. It was also great fun on the balcony waving to all the boats that accompanied us out of Hamburg.
