"Gold Lion - We felt the food here was very good and although busy as expected, if arriving around 10 mins prior to the start of lunch, you could usually get a seat and the staff gave you a menu straight away.We booked this at the cover charge of $25 each and didn't feel it represented good value for money due to the service and desserts...."Read More

1-10 of 481 Europe Queen Mary 2 (QM2) Europe Cruise Reviews
Below is a brief review of our sailing on Queen Mary 2, September 20-29, 2023, 9 nights, from Hamburg to Southampton and on to New York.
This was part of a 5 week trip that began in Milan, Italy at the end of August, and included a 7 night sailing on the Azamara Onward from Rome to Venice.
We were in an Interior cabin with a window overlooking the multi-story lobby. We had noticed these ...
Booked a 4 night cruise to Hamburg and back from Southampton with the thought if we enjoyed the experience we would then consider a transatlantic next year.
Firstly the ship is absolutely stunning, the art deco design combined with modern touches was more than I had hoped for.
The lounges were all spacious, never had a problem finding a seat and the waiting staff in all areas were ...
Having recently completed a seven-day transatlantic voyage aboard the Queen Mary 2, our first Cunard experience post-pandemic pause and just after a couple of recent cruises on Holland America Line and Celebrity X, and we felt it useful to share a quick review. Our oceanic résumé is not devoid of experience with Cunard; we first sailed on the QE2 back in the early 1970s in tourist class and have ...
We booked this cruise to sample the “Cunard” experience. My wife and I have cruised with various other Companies over this last 11/12 years so I wouldn’t consider myself a novice.
We boarded at Southampton having flown into Heathrow earlier in the morning. On arrival at the cruise terminal our taxi driver commented immediately that “ the old girl” meaning the QM2 was looking a bit tired. My ...
My husband and I wanted to get away and relax after a very busy and medically challenging year. He had never been on Cunard before but I had and highly recommended it. We wanted to leave from NYC, unpack once, enjoy the crossing, the fjords of Norway, our one day in France and the return trip to NYC. To make this trip even more special, we selected a room on the Princess Grill level, a room we ...
After three years of living in the Covid era and other disruptions, cancellations, etc. I was thrilled to board QM2 a few weeks ago in Southampton for my first transatlantic since 2018. Boarding seemed to go quite smoothly (though those without existing World Club perks seemed to have to wait quite a bit longer) and once on line we were on the ship within 30 minutes I guess. We didn't arrive ...
I had long wanted to do a transAtlantic crossing on one of the Queens. The opportunity came along this summer, when our daughter and her financé were crossing for the second time after a week cruising on the QM2 from Rome to Southhampton. We reserved a sheltered balcony room.
After about 10 or 11 days in London and the Cotswolds, we did a private transfer from Stow to Southhampton, spending the ...
We chose this cruise as it departed Southampton avoiding the hassle of a UK airport. Some things were good, cabin size and cleanliness. Some things were bad, the buffet was awful the food in general was pretty poor (think works canteen). The public areas were reasonably well maintained but the corridors and balconies were tatty. The ship had the feeling of a worn country house hotel. We had a good ...
We have sailed on QM2 pre Covid and the 2 experiences are night and day. We don’t get dressed up as it’s not our thing and that limited us to the buffet, one lounge and the pub. The lounge was akin to a dentist waiting room. The pub was great and we enjoyed quizzes and the relaxed atmosphere. The buffet was dire. On our previous cruise the buffet was plentiful and delicious. This time there was ...
This was our first time on QM2 since 2017 - we very much enjoyed this 4 night break in a deck 13 Britannia Club cabin. Here are my thoughts.
Cabin
Despite being adjacent to the door to the open deck, the location was generally pretty quiet. The Art Deco design highlights gave the cabin a nice touch of elegance. The shower with the glass door was great, good water pressure and consistent ...
