We have sailed with Cunard since 1996 (Diamond Members) and this cruise was our first since covid lockdown we were a family party of four (two Accessible cabins) From start to finish it was one problem after another and it was clear that whatever cost cutting Cunard could make to try to recover some of their losses they did. This cruise was a treat for a special occasion. All of Cunard's advertising exudes 'Luxury and Glamour'. We booked this holiday as first time cruisers thinking it would be a memorable and wonderful way to renew our wedding vows, see a few places and relax. Embarkation went smoothly. The room was like a small premier inn room but was clean and tidy and the balcony helped reduce the sense of being in a small space. Very quickly however it became clear we had booked into an overcrowded home for the ...

Cunard no longer a luxury brand

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We selected the Christmas Cruise to the Canaries on the basis of a similar cruise on Caronia in 2002. That cruise was excellent and Caronia certainly lived up to the then Cunard image. Move on ten years, and throw in Carnival management - Oh boy, what a change. Boarding at Southampton was easier than for most as my wife is disabled so had priority access. Otherwise the queues were long and ...
