Tired Ship, Bad Buffet, Subpar Service
"Pros The ports of call on this 14day western Mediterranean voyage were very nice, and we managed to enjoy them all, even though we have been to most of them many times already; Some of the venues, lobby and a few niches look good and subdued, classic but not too stuffy; The main dining room (Britannia) had a great dinner service, with nice offerings and wonderful friendly and professional waiters (thank you very much Lemoel and John Mark); On the stops where the way out of the port and into town were difficult or too long, we were offered free shuttle services, which worked very well and were very appreciated; The ship offered enough information and/or maps for the ports of call (not those basic maps that some cruise lines offer showing the points of “no” interest and shops affiliated with them); There were a few good shows onboard, nothing very good or extravagant like some other lines, but good enough. After 3 nights and 2 of which we could not sleep after 6am, we demanded a cabin switch; Bad service: with the exception of the dining room team in the evening, and a few bar waiters, the service on this ship was bad...."Read More

This was our 38th cruise and our second on Cunard (we were on Queen Victoria before). Poorest service ever on a cruise ship! I would give it less than 1 out of 5 if I could!

Chose this ship since it was going through the panama canal, across the atlantic and on to the mediterranean. Worst staff ever! most staff were incompetent at their jobs, especially reception and pursers office. Many staff were outright rude! we have never seen such widespread rudeness on a cruise ship. Room steward LOCKED ME OUT on my patio and then blamed the door (said it locked ...

Let down by food and shuttle buses

The ship was beautiful, very sturdy and we'll maintained. The staff in general were excellent, the service good, but the food was a real let down. It was either bland or too salty and overcooked. The Britannia restaurant was poor so was the buffet on the Lido deck. So disappointing. Of the three cruise lines I have travelled on this was the poorest. My accessible cabin was wonderful, ...

Fabulous Art Deco Experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

For my first ever cruise I wanted it to be an unforgettable experience on what I thought of as a "classic" ship, ie one with a black hull, white decks & red funnels. Which is why I ended up booking my maiden voyage on a Cunard ship! From the outset we were very impressed: the Art Deco interior appealed to us greatly, as did the attentive service and friendly staff. Not knowing whether I'd ...

Very comfortable and nicer than expected

This trip was an opportunity that came up and though it wasn't an 'ocean liner' I was very excited to experience a luxury cruise line. As a solo woman traveler who loves to dance, the knowledge of their dance hosts had me polishing up my dance shoes. Embarkation was short and painless. Though I had been scheduled for a 3:30 embarkation, I was nervous that would be too late to get settled prior ...

1st Cunard experience and sad to say we have B2B booked with them in Aug/Sept 2019, 1st time ever I'm only half hearted about an upcoming cruise !!!!!! I'm sure the locations will cover any Cunard shortcoming. Let me start by saying that while nothing was really wrong it's just that there was nothing that stood out or made the cruise an unforgettable 5 (or even 4) star experience. We cruise ...

Though Cunard are not the cheapest, the whole experience was slick and smooth. We booked a Britannia balcony cabin, with coach transfer as part of the deal. Excellent coach to Southampton with two stops on the way. Arrived on time and in cabin within 30mins. We chose earlyt dining (6.30pm) on table of 8 and had good company - we moved round the table as the cruise progressed. Formal dress ...

Beautiful ship, good facilities, lovely itinerary

We wanted a luxury ship for an 80th birthday celebration with an interesting itinerary and that’s what we got. We were in a Balcony cabin mid ships and we were able to enjoy room service breakfast on our balcony before excursions. The Britannia restaurant was excellent and all our meals were delicious apart from a tough piece of meat early in the cruise, but when I mentioned this to the head ...

This was our sixth cruise on Cunard, but the first time we tried the Princess Grill category. We had the promotion that offered pre-paid gratuities, $800 on board spending money, and free drinks (under $12). When you deduct the value of these benefits from the price of a P1 category cabin, it wasn't all that much more than a regular balcony cabin For some reason, this category on this cruise was ...

Ship that leaves others behind

Chose the Queen Elizabeth on this occasion as we wanted to sail from the UK. We did not consider PO this time as there standards on previous cruises has slipped too far. We travelled down on cruise connections service from Wetherby.this was the only do downside as the there was insufficient leg space on the coach. On arriving at Southampton we completed embarkation very quickly and within 10 ...
