We chose this cruise for its itinerary and that it sailed from Southampton so no flying. Embarkation was seamless and our bags arrived promptly. The Cabin was fine (7090 balcony). On deck seven midship. The bathroom was small especially the shower with a cheap curtain. Bed was very comfortable and our cabin steward was great and saw to our every need. We had trouble with the air conditioning in ...
We also left San Francisco 2/5/18 for Sydney on Q2. The Itinerary was great, the Ship clean, and the crew professional. However, with a number of 4-5 day stretches at sea, one would expect some professional entertainment and varied daytime activities. During the day your choice was basically the library, a very small pool, or boring lectures. At night, the entertainment was dull and amateurish. To ...
Chose this cruise because I wanted to be in Madeira for the firework display and to spend Christmas on board.
Service was very poor, the staff looked tired and everything was an effort.
The food in the Lido buffet was not replenished fast enough, e.g. when one quarter of tomato is sitting alone in the tray it should have been replaced before it got that low.
I had to ask for cuttlery in ...
Queen Elizabeth offers beautiful surroundings, great cruise destinations, good value, an outstanding lecture component, stunning public spaces and a feeling of elegance and comfort throughout, but in my opinion fails when it comes to hospitality.
We joined for the Sydney to Kobe component of the World Cruise. We were a party of 7 friends with 5 staterooms.
Our balcony stateroom was quite ...
Passengers not allowed on observation deck; poor food quality, quantity and choice in Grills’ restaurants; fitness centre not up to UK safety standards; and rip-off prices for shore trips.
All these on a cruise from Dubai to Southampton on Queen Elizabeth in April/May 2016.
In the last four years my wife and I have completed 11 Cunard cruises including five on Queen Elizabeth. This one is ...
We had heard how wonderful Cunard were and how much better than all their rivals. We should have seen a red light when our first two encounters were being told to board a few hours later than planned due to novovirus being rampant on the boat and that the boat was no longer calling at Sharm el Sheik (on our itinerary). This was our 16th cruise in 5 years and we were both so looking forward to the ...
We boarded QE In Sydney for a trip of a lifetime visiting mostly Japan on a leg of their World Voyage with some trepidation after a bad experience on QM2 last year. Worst cabin on the ship allocated to us in the week prior to sailing (38 days is a long cruise for such an "upgrade"????) . Numerous complaints every day on deaf ears finally cost us more than we paid for original cruise to be able to ...
The ship was cold 18-19 degrees - staff didn't respond until the last few days of cruise and then temperature rose to other extreme 28 degrees. Passengers all developed illness whilst on board. Some staff were very good but generally staff needed customer service training. The ship ran out of basic supplies like cough medicine, hot chocolate, berries etc which meant passengers had to buy their ...
Please be aware that you are no longer truly sailing with Cunard. You are sailing a slightly upgraded version of Carnival.
(Granted I am picky but there were so many fails it would not be fair to not warn others.)
1. Tours- are like selling time share. You are directed to "friends" shops and restaurants. They do not make you aware that access to all ports is easy and an 1/8th of the price as the ...
We booked early and later asked for an upgrade as we were in a an obscured view balcony midships. My wife got nowhere with the travel agent and finally contacted Cunard direct. We eventually after much persuasion got an unobscured view balcony at the bow. This was even though they were selling and upgrading others to better cabins.
I should have known right from the beginning that this cruise ...
