It was a short 4-sea day transit from Hong Kong to Singapore rather than a proper cruise, a short segment of the World Cruise. It falls on the Easter long weekend, and several hundred people embark from Hong Kong for the short ride without a shore day.
Cunard operates the most formal type of cruise, of all cruise lines. Every dinner is dressy, one night formal and three nights informal (jacket ...
Absolute thrill to spend 3 days on-bard the Queen Elizabeth from Sydney - Brisbane. Fabulous food, beautiful state-room. Stunning, commisioned works of art. Incredible/wonderful décor and design. Loved the Art deco style evidenced throughout the ship. A truly unforgettable experience. I walked the passageways for the three days transfixed by the surroundings. Every turn produced something ...
We also left San Francisco 2/5/18 for Sydney on Q2. The Itinerary was great, the Ship clean, and the crew professional. However, with a number of 4-5 day stretches at sea, one would expect some professional entertainment and varied daytime activities. During the day your choice was basically the library, a very small pool, or boring lectures. At night, the entertainment was dull and amateurish. To ...
Have cruised Royal Caribbean HAL and Princess. This was our first Cunard experience. Ship was elegant but not glitzy. Service was excellent but very much “this is Cunard and this is how it’s done”. We thought the food was the best we have ever had on a cruise. Cabin was good but think it may have been slightly smaller than the other ships we have been on. Enjoyed the shows in the Royal Court. ...
We joined Queen Elizabeth on the 20th April in Cape Town. We had travelled on quite a few cruises on Queen Mary, but wow we were blown away by Queen Elizabeth. From the moment we stepped aboard, our holiday began and it was wonderful the entire journey. From the food in the Lido to the Brittannia, we could not have asked for more. The shows were wonderful, with the exception of one show. ...
We chose this cruise due to the ports served. Originally planned to go with Oceania but I did not like the reviews. Cunard did not gouge us on Visas for example. Oceania charged $150 for Vietnam visas Cunard only $30. We upgraded to Princess and that made a big difference. The Princess Grill was the best run dining room that I have ever seen. If you take a cruise on this ship it is worth the extra ...
My husband and I chose this cruise because of the itinerary.
The embarkation process ran smoothly and we did not have to wait too long to board the ship in Singapore. We had a cabin near to mid-ship on Deck 4 with an obstructed view - i.e. there was a lifeboat right outside the window so we could only see the sky. The cabin itself was a nice size with two wardrobes and a few shelves. under ...
I chose QE because l had heard that Cunard was 'upscale". After cruising a couple of other lines l thought l'd give them a try.
l was disappointed about the following aspects of the cruise:
- Hot tub was seldom HOT
- Food was too British
- No gala performance as on other cruises - only a single act each night: like it or leave
- not much group activity
- the men's ...
To put this review in perspective, here is some background. We cruise this segment almost every year at the same time for our wedding anniversary, using Royal Caribbean, Crystal and Cunard from Hong Kong back to Singapore. We also love dancing and spend most of each evening on the dance floor. So the starting and ending ports are all that matter and the ports in between, we have been to more times ...
Sydney to Hong Kong 28 days on the ship.First stop Brisbane in a container terminal.shuttle bus into the city, next stop Cairns then PNG then it was good by to sunshine until we reached Hong Kong .We had a lot of See days on this cruise with limited activities due to bad weather.Accommodation and food was good ,free 24 hour room service,or ongoing food in the Lido deck up to 2am each day. This ship ...
