We lived in San Francisco 50 years ago and wanted to combine a nostalgic stay there with a leisurely cruise back to England via the Panama Canal and Atlantic crossing. Oddly we were unable to board in SF and had to fly to LA whilst we met passengers on board who had had to do the reverse! Cunard or Imagine Cruising to blame? Who knows.
As regular Celebrity cruisers we were a little anxious ...
We chose Victoria again as it was going to Rio de Janeiro including a long trip along the Amazon. We started from Southampton and flew back from Rio. The ship carried on finally returning to Southampton. On board all food in the Britannia, Lido and Verandah restaurants was excellent. Staff service in all areas was also excellent. The ship's condition was very good overall and for those yet to ...
This is a very Beautiful Ship. If you like formalities this is the ship for you. There is a sense of traditional cruising about it. All in all it was a very enjoyable cruise. We ate in the Britannia Club Restaurant. The food was of a very high standard and the service was impeccable. The only down side was the cost of drinks which were very high.
Out cabin was well appointed and well looked ...
We have previously travelled on many Celebrity ships and also Victoria and QM2. We loved Victoria and hated QM2; we liked Elizabeth as much as Victoria. They both compare plus/minus with Celebrity. I have to disagree with some of the last few reviews posted. The food was good, service was good, the shows were virtually all good, Speakers were mostly very good. The balcony cabin was very good. The ...
This was our third time on Cunard and our second on the Queen Victoria, so we had a good idea of what to expect: excellent service, excellent dancing and mediocre food. Our April cruise through the Panama Canal, from LA to Fort Lauderdale, met two of those three expectations.
The service was indeed excellent. Every crew member we encountered was friendly and eager to help. Our cabin steward, ...
Past experience with sailing on at Cunard Ships - Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary.
I wanted to comment on the treatment we were given by our steward, Leo, our head waiter, Ryan, our waiter, Arnold (Arnie), and our assistant waiter, Dexter (Dex). We were totally treated by Leo in our cabin (there were 3 of us in 6197) - he asked us what he could do to help us but never was ...
This was my second time aboard Queen Elizabeth and Cunards never fails to impress with standards of service, cleanliness and on-board atmosphere; however, this time I was disappointed by the poor offerings of nightly shows/entertainment. Perhaps it had something to do with being in port.
There is a heavy reliance on cocktail lounge pianists tinkling away, quartets and the occasional harpist ...
I really enjoy the Cunard Line, I am English by birth and American by choice. I choose Cunard because they provide Dance Hosts for the single ladies for any length cruise. The Queen's room dance floor and Orchestras are so perfect for Ballroom Dancing and themed parties.
The service is excellent from white gloved afternoon tea to breakfast in bed. Their dining rooms are elegant and ...

Some friends took a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth (QE) at Christmas last year and did nothing but complain. Also, I traveled on the QE2, several times before her retirement and quite liked her. So,I didn't expect much from the newest Queen. But, I got a good deal on the web a few weeks before the cruise and decided to book the Los Angeles to Ft Lauderdale leg of the QE's world cruise.
