My wife and I just did a week long round trip from Barcelona. After our NCL cruise in August it was night and day. were all well organized.
Embarkation was the easiest we ever did. From arrival top being in our cabin was 13 minutes. Staff very pleasant. Room was clean and organized. We had service twice a day( a lesson for some other cruise lines). Our attendant was tops and pro active without ...
yes we find cunard generally of good standard but there were poor issues on this 20 day trip. Main dining room food was often very disappointing and some of the servers were very indifferent ofcourse there was some excellent servers too.
The cabin was of poor design tiniest bathrooms ever plus for a 20 day cruise limited shelving and when you opened the wardrobe doors you blocked out the ...
We sailed regularly with Cunard until 2018 so this was our first voyage for 5 years. It was a last minute booking 3 days before departure so a very hectic schedule arranging Insurance, parking , cat boarding and, of course packing. Unfortunately the usual converientl parking facilities were full so had to use a "Meet & Greet "service, which was not a very pleasant experience. We always prefer early ...
Cunard enjoys a reputation as a luxury cruise provider and the Queen Victoria (QV) is elegantly furnished throughout. I would accept that constant use is going to have an impact on the fabric of the ship but in general it is well maintained.
Dining at the Princess Grill is excellent with very attentive staff, a good menu choice and a relaxing atmosphere. Other areas of the ship also offered ...
I have just returned from a 14 night cruise around the Mediterranean on Queen Mary 2. Whilst we have travelled many times on Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria this was my first time on QM2.
One cannot help but be impressed by the sheer size, spaciousness and quality of the interior of the ship, evoking the grandeur of past ocean-going liners. The Royal Court theatre is quite impressive ...
First few days out of Southampton were quite choppy at sea and a lot of passengers appeared to be staying in their rooms. Ship movement prevented the acrobatic act from performing in the theatre and outside deck areas were closed. Thankfully, conditions improved once the ship had got past the Bay of Biscay and temperatures rose the closer we got to the Canaries.
Meals in the main restaurant ...
We have travelled on QE before and QV. Both superb ships. This break was to have some winter Sun to islands we had been to before and liked. The arrival at Southampton docks was a bit disorganised. Cunard said to go into Gate 20 which was not a good idea as it's the Container port and there was only one sign to the screening area and that was much later; we did find it eventually by accident. It's ...
We wanted to get some winter sun without flying....this fitted the bill.
The ship was broadly excellent, food was excellent, ship is very manageable, production shows were excellent with some very good guest acts.
As would be expected the Crew were very professional, but to the point of blandness. Very few of them showed any warmth or made anything personal.
While the ship (and Cunard) ...
After a slightly stressful summer holiday we booked this 10 night cruise for a relaxing time and to try out Cunard.
Embarkation at Southampton was easy and we were on board in time for lunch in the golden lion pub.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather as for the whole cruise the seas were fairly calm, for November and December in the bay of biscay and near Portugal and southern ...
The ship was beautiful, very sturdy and we'll maintained. The staff in general were excellent, the service good, but the food was a real let down. It was either bland or too salty and overcooked. The Britannia restaurant was poor so was the buffet on the Lido deck. So disappointing. Of the three cruise lines I have travelled on this was the poorest. My accessible cabin was wonderful, ...
