We chose this cruise as it departed Southampton avoiding the hassle of a UK airport. Some things were good, cabin size and cleanliness. Some things were bad, the buffet was awful the food in general was pretty poor (think works canteen). The public areas were reasonably well maintained but the corridors and balconies were tatty. The ship had the feeling of a worn country house hotel. We had a good ...
This was our first Cunard Cruise, we had high hopes: ship looks stylish, cabin comfortable, embarkation smooth. Drinks are seriously overpriced and service charges do not reflect the level of service delivered. on arrival we had wine but only one glass, no teaspoons for coffee and not enough milk. Food options are very limited compared to P&O and food is rather bland, unimaginative and ...
We choose this cruise as a treat for my 50th birthday and choose to book for 14 nights,we booked a spacious deluxe inside room on a saver fare, two weeks before we sailed we were told that we had been ‘upgraded’ to an outside smaller footage room, when we looked at the room online not only was it smaller but had a tender boat completely blocking the window, after almost an hour on the phone we were ...
I went on this ship with my grandmother as she loves cruising.
First impressions were good. The cabin was nice and the food was good.
I enjoyed the stops at Barcelona and Gibraltar.
Time on the ship however was where it slipped.
There was barely any activities or anything to do on the ship. The entertainment wasn't worth watching. This made days at sea unbearable. We spent most of the ...
We chose this cruise for its itinerary and that it sailed from Southampton so no flying. Embarkation was seamless and our bags arrived promptly. The Cabin was fine (7090 balcony). On deck seven midship. The bathroom was small especially the shower with a cheap curtain. Bed was very comfortable and our cabin steward was great and saw to our every need. We had trouble with the air conditioning in ...
We travelled with friends and liked the itiniery, especially Venice and Lake Garda (this was an add on arranged by Imagine cruising. I use a wheelchair and gave all dimensions to Cunard before setting off. Despite this, my chair would not fit through the cabin door. The "stateroom" was just very average and not very big so my chair, even when folded, took up a lot of space. We ate in the ...
Wanted to travel from London/Southampton to Barcelona and visit Gibraltar and Mallorca.
Everything on this cruise was boring and well over priced. Excursions in Gibraltar and Mallorca were a waste of time and money - drove around the 'rock' in Gibraltar on a Sunday (everything was closed) and were dropped for 2 hours in a tourist trap market in Mallorca.
Meals in the restaurant were ...
To enjoy a leisurely time visiting various far east ports we had looked forward to this cruise for months, unfortunately the reality proved to be a disappointment. The embarkation was a slow process, which we christened FTS,( ie.. first time syndrome - perhaps they had never done this before!) This FTS continued throughout the cruise with poor organisation apparently emanating from the purser's ...
We chose this cruise because it included the Suez Canal we had 2 nights in Dubai before the cruise and we were stopping in what we thought were fairly interesting ports ?? They weren't interesting at all for me !
The excursion to Jerusalem and Bethlehem were excruciatingly awful, too many people ( last days of the Passover ) the guide ! Well the less I say about her the better !!
We had ...
After travelling on QM2 on 3 different occasions, this was for us a total shock. In all of our cruises by now probably 100 + this had to have been the worst. To board the ship and immediately start to hear that people paid as little as 400 pounds a cabin and with them came Norovirus with the result that we were like a hospital at sea for 8 or 9 days. We were not even allowed into Jordanian ...
