Just back from a 2 way transatlantic voyage on QM2. We had been upgraded from deck 5 with a sheltered balcony to deck 11 with a full balcony, which was nice, but unfortunately with inclement weather we got little use. The weather on the way to New York was fine but cold and very windy and on the return was stormy for most of the way till our last day sailing.
I enjoyed our cruise, however it ...
We have just returned on the QM2 two-way transatlantic. It was brilliant.
I had read negative reviews, but should have just kept an open mind.
Perfect, not, but as good as... and life is too short to get too concerned.
If something is wrong, bring it up so it can be resolved there and then.
The stateroom was great, lots of storage space etc., a fridge was a bonus, lovely food ...
My first ever cruise. Was very much looking forward to the advertised excellent service, fabulous entertainment and delicious food. This ship failed on all points. The service in the majority of the restaurants was very slow, receiving your bottle of wine half way through your main course is not good enough. The entertainment was basic and lasted just 40 minutes per show. The britannia restaurant ...
This was our 17th cruise, second on the QM2 and first Transatlantic crossing.
Executive summary: Cunard offers a solid product, comparable with other mass market lines like Celebrity, but definitely not a luxury experience. Outstanding entertainment, mediocre food, decent service, terrible embarkation experience and almost unusable internet. Overall, pretty much in line with our ...
The cruise was going fine and we were celebrating my husbands 70th birthday. It all turned very sour when we both contracted Covid. I tested positive first and my husband 3 days later. It then became a very distressing experience. I was escorted to my isolation cabin, passing several other guests along the way. I was initially placed in an Ocean View cabin but eventually moved to a cabin with a ...
In May we boarded the Queen Elizabeth for a cruise from Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco. Only after we embarked did we discover that there were active cases of Covid on board. Mask wearing was poor, social distancing weak and, worst of all there was no control of passenger and crew freely exploring each port of call. In sharp contrast to a cruise, on the same ship, which we took in October 2021 ...
It has now been almost 3 weeks since disembarking from the QM2 and frankly I cannot wait to get back on the ship!
Prior to this voyage I had never travelled via ship, I had always taken a flight but in 2019 I decided to try something new and book myself on a cruise ship and having completed extensive research on the subject I decided to do a transatlantic crossing on board the QM2(I know it's ...
I wanted to do a westbound roundtrip transatlantic crossing which was on my bucket list. I come from the city where the original QM was built. I booked a Balcony cabin, sorry stateroom, (obstructed Deck 8) but was given an upgrade to a sheltered balcony on Deck 4. It may be an upgrade for Cunard but it felt like a downgrade to me.
Whilst clean and bed very comfortable it was dreary and dull. ...
This was our third Crossing in 5 years on the QM2 and I think this time our eyes were wide open. Our first Crossing (Britannia Club), in 2017, was magical, as first Crossings on the QM2 are. We truly saw everything through rose colored glasses. I think if the ship had sunk entering New York Harbor, we would still have given it a 5-star review. Our second Crossing (Sheltered Balcony), in 2018, was ...
Special birthday cruise with Cunard in the middle of May 2022 was the reason for this cruise plus it seemed good value as it was a re positioning journey finally ending in Alaska. We had a good ball cabin kept immaculate by our excellent steward and took dinner at 8.30 (a bit late for us).All meals were excellent as per usual.Vegetables are never cooked enough though making them too inedible for ...
