Overall, the staff was genial and helpful
My room steward was excellent, well trained and responsive.

We chose this cruise because although we had sailed QM2 several times Transatlantic, we had never been on the QE. The dates fit our schedule—sail the QM2 over to Southampton, a week in England and sail the QE back Southampton to Fort Lauderdale. Our leg was the beginning of the QE’s longer leg, she will be sailing over a month, all the way to Alaska. My observations:

The service in the Britannia restaurant was as great as always. But the weather across the Atlantic was dreadful. We were late into Bermuda and Port Canaveral. The Churchill cigar lounge was full of cigarette smokers and resembled the Dog and Duck pub rather than an intimate cigar lounge as it is advertised. The checkin before boarding was efficient and fast.
Stateroom cat. BF with balcony at the 11th deck was very confortable and large enough altough the bathroom was so small but functional.

The cruise visited places that were not easily accessed by road. The ports and opportunity to visit Macchu Piccu was amazing. The Panama Canal transit was fascinating.
