Amazing QM2 history! We had a queens grille suite and was quite impressed by the space and service the butler was a quick call away . The restaurant was amazing for the queens grille we could pretty much order anything we wanted as long as we gave them notice at lunch! Had caviar and vodka Queen Mary style!! The FOD get togethers were fun and there was a nightclub behind the ballroom floor! The ...
My wife and I chose the Queen Mary 2 because it was making this itinerary at the time we wanted. We hadn't visited the delightful Quebec City before and we thought the 'Fall Colors' would be nice to see again. Both 'platinum level' Cunard guests, we have travelled on the QM2 several times before and were anxious to witness the 'remastering' which the ship was given this summer.
We noticed the ...
50th anniversary. Wifi was expensive and a constant headache. Transfer to laguardia airport was mishandled. Not enuf buses, crowds of people waiting outside the ship for a bus, most of them quite elderly. No place to sit or get out of the elements. Thank goodness it did not rain. No excuse for Cunard not to know how many buses necessary for the transfer. This info is provided well in advance of ...
The food in the main dining room at times seemed to be partially spoiled and the portions were small enough that it appears they are trying to "force" passengers to use the extra cost alternative dining. The selection in the buffet was very limited with a big emphasis on pork and lamb with very little beef ever. The employees in the buffet area were very discourteous they would step out in front ...
First cruise as a honeymoon cruise from New York to Quebec to enjoy the Indian summer.
Concisely put: the experience was worth every dollar spent. We had the most attentive and dedicated service from our stewards Krisna and Richard, all meals were very good or excellent. We love breakfast in bed, and this was always served timely and most enjoyable. We had chosen a seating of six for dinner ...
This was a Fall Foliage Cruise (New England and Atlantic Provinces). We booked a cheap outside cabin. We had been on the QM2 on a transatlantic cruise years ago, before the recent remastering. We are reasonably agile and competent seniors. Normally we cruise much smaller ships. So much for background.
Now for the good, the bad and the ugly.
The good: QM2 is a wonderful, traditional ocean ...
Westbound crossing in 2014 was great and we wanted to experience the remastering and a Princess Grill Suite this year, 2016, round-trip for 16 days.
We flew into LGA the night before our voyage, stayed at a hotel, and took an Uber from LGA to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in RedHook. Embarkation was quick, didn't take more than 10 minutes. Once onboard we found our suite. Oh, my! It was not as ...
Special birthday trip. Expected it to be a trip of a lifetime so disappointed with overall experience. First time cruise so selected Cunard believing it to be the best cruise line Discovered it is trading on past reputation. Carnival taking over Cunard is like the Co-op taking over Harrods !!
The ship is magnificent. Beautiful to the eye and simply magical feeling to be aboard. However we ...
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS cruising every January, was Cunard for me? Having heard about the advantages of transatlantic sailing travel compared to cruising for so many years, thought I’d give an ocean-liner a try.
So, the brief 4th of July sailing offered on the Queen Mary 2 appeared to be a great opportunity to experience one of the legendary Cunard ships. She was built to sport the often-stormy ...
Background: This is our 22nd cruise and first on Cunard.
The ship had just come out of a 3 week dry dock where most everything that we could use was replaced/updated.
Could not expect a ship to look any better.
I think that my wife and I were well taken care of by everyone.
The service, the food, and the entertainment were excellent
(except the comedian-he had limitations)
The ...
