We have cruised numerous times, but had not yet cruised with Cunard. We wanted to experience the Queen Mary 2, and a short, 5 night cruise over the 4th of July was a wonderful opportunity to do so.
The QM2 is a stunningly beautiful ship. The décor is very “art deco” and reminiscent of a more elegant age. The many common areas on the ship are large, well appointed, and, even at capacity, do not ...
This was our 6th voyage aboard. First since the Re-Mastering in 2016 .
The Service and general ambience continued very good as expected .
Dining also was as good as it gets.
Kings Court improvements were well received by most .
Caronia Lounge was also a big improvement over the old , very underutilized Winter Garden.
I was suprized that the cabins added on deck 13 seemed hardly ...
We traveled from Quebec City to New York (Brooklyn). The ship was in very good condition, with a very comfortable bed in our balcony room (deck 12). We were really disappointed that the Planetarium was not fully functional, only one show was available and that one had issues with sound. The ship did a really good job on Gluten Free food selections, much better than Princess or Celebrity. Note ...
WE chose this ship because of the ballroom dancing, so many other ships have discontinued this activity. The dance floor is large, there is an Orchestra and a vocalist, every night at 9:30 PM, and over a 2 week period there were 4 Tea dances. This is a little late in the evening for older people, but we adjusted our internal clocks and did it.
I felt that the food was not as good as other ...
Our family were keen, to travel, once again, on The Queen Mary 2. It would be our fourth journey aboard, but it would the first we had done so, since 2011. This time around, we decided to take the Westbound crossing; without the Eastbound return.
The embankment was as smooth as ever, and our room was ready for use as soon as we were onboard (suitcases seemed to have arrived in record time!). ...
We took the five day Independence Day cruise on the Queen Mary 2 in July. Overall it was a good cruise.
We sailed in a Britannia Club cabin on Deck12. It had a nice balcony and fairly good closet space, although one closet was deep and hard to access the full depth. The shower had a hard time with constant water temperature and had a shower curtain rather than a door; a door would have been a ...
We've crossed the Atlantic on the QM2 a bunch of times, but this time was memorable because of the rescue at sea of a yachtsman from a disabled craft. We watched from our balcony, and then learned from a Q & A session between the Captain and the rescued seaman. Very interesting.
Otherwise, we keep coming back to the Queen Mary because of the beauty of the ship and our favorite experiences on ...
My wife and I chose the Queen Mary 2 because it was making this itinerary at the time we wanted. We hadn't visited the delightful Quebec City before and we thought the 'Fall Colors' would be nice to see again. Both 'platinum level' Cunard guests, we have travelled on the QM2 several times before and were anxious to witness the 'remastering' which the ship was given this summer.
We noticed the ...
3rd time (since we first went in Oct 2014) doing this cruise which we combine with a visit to US friends. I was very excited as we weren't expecting to make the trip this year and I was keen to see the changes post refit.
We had a balcony cabin on the port side (4171) Surprised how confused we were by it being "the other way round" to last time, initially we kept opening the bathroom for the ...
QM2 NYC-Halifax-Boston July 4th 5 nights. Splurged on a Queens Grills stateroom.
Liked:
-Spacious stateroom with luxurious furnishings.
-Butler who brought breakfast, canapes daily.
-Intimate Queens Grills dining - they still flambe table side - chateaubriand, duck a l'orange. Variety great, service attentive. Your table is always reserved for you.
-Scones with English cream - ...
