It was my first West bound transatlantic. The embarkation was very smooth. I recommend doing all forms on line before you leave. I sent a bag ahead with the while glove service. It worked prefect. I boarded the ship and my bag arrived with in minutes. It is a beautiful and grand ship. The cabins were bigger. They added many new storage areas in the room. The service was unbeatable. ...

To celebrate a number of different things (University and High School graduations, and our 25th wedding anniversary) our family of four went on a vacation to the UK, that started with a Trans Atlantic crossing. This crossing was one of the highlights of our trip. We started our trip in Toronto, and took the train to New York City. I would not recommend the this train, for several reasons. Going ...

The voyage is the vacation! We chose this trip because we love sea days in the first place, we've always wanted to try Cunard and found an amazing deal. Originally the plan was to cruise to Southampton and fly home, but getting from ship to Heathrow is a pain so we just went both ways. First the ship: Queen Mary 2 is the only true ocean liner afloat. She was designed and built to cross ...

Wheelchair Access Notes - Excellent and recommended

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

This review refers to the wheelchair access only on this cruise ship, for service and other reviews please see other reviewers' comments. This review refers to a wheelchair accessible cabin (stateroom). The rooms that are not identified as wheelchair accessible are definitely not going to work for you if you use a wheelchair. The doors are too narrow to accept a standard wheelchair. Do not ...

A wonderful voyage.

First off, the Queen Mary 2 is an ocean liner and not a cruise ship. The overall experience reflects this distinction. The dress code for passengers helps to create a sense of occasion. It felt like you were doing something special as opposed to casual cruise where it feels like you're on an ocean-going Walmart. There were many little touches by the crew which added significantly to ...

Sumptuous Style without Snobbery

Embarkation at Southampton was well organised and less time consuming than expected - much less hassle than any airport! Entry to the ship brings one into the Grand Lobby and there are well placed deck guides , good stairways, and elegant lifts to ensure smooth navigation to one's room. We were on Deck 8, above the Promenade Deck, with unobstructed view. Suitcases arrived promptly and the cabin ...

Amazing QM2 history! We had a queens grille suite and was quite impressed by the space and service the butler was a quick call away . The restaurant was amazing for the queens grille we could pretty much order anything we wanted as long as we gave them notice at lunch! Had caviar and vodka Queen Mary style!! The FOD get togethers were fun and there was a nightclub behind the ballroom floor! The ...

First cruise as a honeymoon cruise from New York to Quebec to enjoy the Indian summer. Concisely put: the experience was worth every dollar spent. We had the most attentive and dedicated service from our stewards Krisna and Richard, all meals were very good or excellent. We love breakfast in bed, and this was always served timely and most enjoyable. We had chosen a seating of six for dinner ...
