A lovely way to travel

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

We decided to do a short cruise on the recently refurbished Queen Victoria to see if the additions had improved things. They had. We had one of the club balcony staterooms and were able to dine in the Brittania club restaurant which allowed us to chose when we dined instead of having to chose an early or late sitting. The stateroom was adequate in size with a slightly larger balcony although we ...

When originally booked cruise was going to spend 2 nights in Istanbul; after the problems in Turkey last year the itinerary was changed with Sarande, Albania and Heraklion, reteadded. After research into Sarande, decided to stick wit hothead reservation. From the moment I stepped on board I got the feeling that the QV was a good ship. Crew were friendly and the whole embarkation process was ...

We went to try Cunard again after a cruise 8 years ago . This time we chose the much vaunted Queens grill penthouse suite . The Flight out was ok with BA though putting people who have paid top whack in the tail of the aircraft by the toilets was a bit of a surprise. When we arrived in Athens it was all very efficient and with a very quick transfer we were in our room in no time ,our bags ...

This was our first time on Cunard. We had been wanting to try them for a while and the dates, itinerary and cost for a balcony cabin seemed just right. We were a little apprehensive about it, given some recent negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Visually, the main public areas look elegant and stylish and we rather enjoyed the formality. We were in a balcony cabin on deck ...

The Queen Victoria is 'Outdated Elegance' as another critic has stated... and that is what we love, the Elegance of a Past-dated time. The Queen Vic has it in spades!! The ship has a wonderful, homely feeling once you board. Everything was as we expected..... A MAJOR bone of contention is the carrying of your own suitcase etc after check-in at departure airport ....to the ships' transfer ...

Stateroom on floor 7 excellent, Britannia Restaurant excellent, Crew excellent, However the dance hosts were all American, two of them must have learnt there dancing from a library book, one was a try hard and the fourth did have some idea of what to do with a lady on the dance floor but it was all too much American Smooth style dancing which gets in the way of those who dance International, this ...

We have just come back from our first trip on a Cunard ship but with previous experience of many other cruise lines and our overall experience was excellent. We usually travel with our teenage sons but this was our first trip on our own we are in our early to mid 40's and wanted a more adult experience than some of the other cruise lines offer. Firstly we had a private flight from Bournemouth put ...

We boarded at Athens on a incredibly hot day. Embarkation was swift and comfortable even though we were 3 hours early. We had a balcony cabin on deck 4 kept immaculately by our steward. Lunch we tried to take where ever possible in the Brittania restaurant because of the superb quality of the meals. Sat on table for 6 at late sitting and enjoyed the company of the other guests who had all ...

We are seasoned cruisers, mostly Holland America. We booked the Queen Victoria with Cunard because of the excellent itinerary (in this case it included Athens, Santorini, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, for example). We enjoyed the ports and the shore excursions. The life on the ship, however, is pretty dull. The sail away parties, if you can call them that, were lackadaisical. The overall ship ...

We had previously done 2 Cunard cruises, both from Southampton and were a little nervous about embarking on a fly cruise. We chose to pay extra to go from Manchester (£50 pp) and rather than flying via BA from Heathrow we ended up with Titan Airways. This proved to be the most problematic element on our trip. Firstly there is no allocated seating and we arrived last (still 2 and 1/2 hours ...
