Cunard could do much better

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Victoria

Having cruised many times with Princess Cruises, we decided to try Cunard's Queen Victoria because the itinerary included Dubrovnik, Montenegro and overnight in Venice. The ship had just undergone a £34 million refit in May and looked splendid, especially the Queens Room, Garden Room and theatre. That said, the new Grand suites and the additions like the Britannia Club restaurant are of no benefit ...

Expected more from Cunard

Have traveled on other cruise lines and for what we were paying - I had expected more. The embarkation was a mess. The ship was at Terminal C at Athens, where we got dropped but we then had to walk over to Terminal B to actually check in (not a short walk). Instructions and signs poor. Ship - good, cabin - clean although steward had to be asked to replace shampoo etc when we run out! Food ...

TRADING ON NAME

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

Cunard are very much trading on their name and need to sharpen their act. We were in a stateroom and the Queens Grill so not a cheap cruise. The amount of paper which arrived in our suite every day was quite ridiculous and most of the info could have been shown on the TV. Having said that, the communication with passengers was poor. We did not know we needed to take our passports with us ...

Where have the British gone?

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Queen Victoria

The food was mediocre, but after all they're British. The movies and videos in the theater were often disasters. The one film my wife and I saw, La La Land, stopped at least eight times during the presentation. Other guests told me their films were equally bad and at least one of the lectures had similar problems. When I complained, I was stunned how unconcerned the staff was. The other ...

OK Cruise

Cunard is a little formal for us, having previously cruised with Celebrity and Holland America. We do not mind some formality, however the strict restaurant sitting times and fixed seating arrangements are a little over the top, especially if seated with people you cannot relate too. The food in the Britannia restaurant was a little inconsistent with average meals some days and below average on ...

We wouldn't travel with Cunard again due to the strict dress code.

There were good things about this cruise line. We had no problems with the ship or crew. They were kind and helpful. This ship was very clean. The food was best in The Britannia restaurant, but the menu's were very strange offerings, but ended up delicious. The Lido buffet was ok with the best food item we had being baklava. We did enjoy the Lion Pub lunch of fish & chips but it only served food ...

Disappointed- Cancelled Monte Carlo

First I will start by saying my wife and I are travel agents whom when on any cruise we look at it from the point of view, could we place a client on this ship or this cruiseline, with confidence? We do compare with other cruiselines and with what the cruiseline is portraying in their pre-cruise advertising, basically "will my client receive the treatment that (in this case) Cunard is ...
