The title says it all. This was silver spoon service without trying. If you don't like formal then don;t come on board, but if you do - wow! The ship is excellent, the destinations were really good (and varied). My wife, being a vegetarian, had the most choice she has ever had on a cruise ship (or just about any restaurant anywhere).
This was unashamedly posh and British at its best.

Cunard are very much trading on their name and need to sharpen their act. We were in a stateroom and the Queens Grill so not a cheap cruise. The amount of paper which arrived in our suite every day was quite ridiculous and most of the info could have been shown on the TV. Having said that, the communication with passengers was poor. We did not know we needed to take our passports with us ...
The food was mediocre, but after all they're British. The movies and videos in the theater were often disasters. The one film my wife and I saw, La La Land, stopped at least eight times during the presentation. Other guests told me their films were equally bad and at least one of the lectures had similar problems. When I complained, I was stunned how unconcerned the staff was. The other ...
Cunard is a little formal for us, having previously cruised with Celebrity and Holland America. We do not mind some formality, however the strict restaurant sitting times and fixed seating arrangements are a little over the top, especially if seated with people you cannot relate too. The food in the Britannia restaurant was a little inconsistent with average meals some days and below average on ...
We have long wanted to cruise the Eastern Med and in particular visit Ephasus, so when we saw a 7 night cruise on Queen Victoria, a favourite ship, embarking in Athens and disembarking in Venice & calling at Santorini, Kusadasi and Katakolon, we jumped at it. We booked a P2 stateroom on deck 4 which has the larger balcony. In the event, unrest in Turkey meant that Kusadasi was substituted by ...
The Queen Victoria is 'Outdated Elegance' as another critic has stated... and that is what we love, the Elegance of a Past-dated time. The Queen Vic has it in spades!! The ship has a wonderful, homely feeling once you board.
Everything was as we expected..... A MAJOR bone of contention is the carrying of your own suitcase etc after check-in at departure airport ....to the ships' transfer ...
Stateroom on floor 7 excellent, Britannia Restaurant excellent, Crew excellent, However the dance hosts were all American, two of them must have learnt there dancing from a library book, one was a try hard and the fourth did have some idea of what to do with a lady on the dance floor but it was all too much American Smooth style dancing which gets in the way of those who dance International, this ...

ONBOARD EXPERIENCE & SERVICE
We sailed with Cunard on 23rd of July 2016 from Athens. Our sailing points were Athens - Santorini - Katakolon - Kotor - Venice. To begin the journey with Cunard was unpleasant to begin with as we lost our luggage at Athens airport. We embarked on Cunard with whatever we had with us and Cunard crew was being sympathetic with our issue. They told us to let them deal ...
My girlfriend and I chose Cunard's Queen Victoria for our eastern Mediterranean cruise last summer. The choice was based on the amazing port itinerary, Cunard's strong reputation, and reasonable value. We definitely did not go wrong.
The ship is beautiful. Elegant, understated, classy, perfect for the kind of cruise we were looking for. A nice size ship, big enough, but small and intimate, and ...
