Other than the amount of emails sent before the voyage which left me wondering what I should do before embarking, the trip just got worse as the days went by. The cabin was small, lack of wardrobe space and a poky shower room. The toiletries provided were of poor quality, forcing me to buy a decent hair shampoo as soon I could get to some shops.
But the most visible shortcomings were the total ...
What a disappointment. Destinations were changed at least three times and itineraries cancelled at the last minute due to the coronavirus. Independent travelers were treated like second class citizens and given NO ASSISTANCE whatsoever from the QM2's staff. Passengers were forced to pay thousands of dollars to change flights countless times. The ship offered NO help to those passengers who did ...
This cruise was a treat for a special occasion. All of Cunard's advertising exudes 'Luxury and Glamour'. We did not know that we had paid all that money to join the last leg of around the world cruise for a 'don't care home'!! Our checkin and boarding was a disaster as we were checked into the room I had booked, but in some one else's name! We subsequently were hawked about a couple of floors ...
My wife and I have just returned from the first two and a half legs of a QM2 world cruise. We were both in excellent health when we boarded this vessel but are now both suffering from coughs which we caught on QM2. I started coughing on 6th day of a 39 day cruise and although I paid to see the ships doctor the best he could do was offer a cough medicine, In Cape Town we did manage to get ...
Our two night stay in the Marriot Marquis Dubai was a great success. We had a wonderful room with fantastic views and the food was excellent within the hotel especially the Indian Restaurant. We enjoyed the Miracle Gardens, the River Cruise the Mall and old Dubai. Even the coach tour on arrival was good but we were all very tired after such a long journey. We travelled with Imagine Cruising and ...
Having previously cruised on the Queen Victoria and the Queen Elizabeth in 2013, I thought that I would 'complete the set' by joining the QM2 on the final leg of her 2016 World Cruise from Dubai to Southampton.
How things have deteriorated in 3 years!
My 2013 experience of Cunard was excellent service from friendly staff in all areas and excellent food - even during a Force 10 gale.
Not ...
Embarkation & disembarkation went smoothly, however the ship was so disappointing. Cunard market the Queen Mary 2 as the Flag Ship of their fleet. It was shabby and showing its age. In the Britannia Restaurant, The Golden Lion Pub and some heavy traffic thoroughfares their were holes in the floor which were carpeted over. If wearing high heels the shoe heel often would bury itself in the hole ...
The Cunard line is far too convinced of its own distinctive name. Sadly, the brand is more McDonalds than Michelin star. Perhaps it was the best line on offer at some point in the LONG DISTANT past, but we would never bother again. We waited and queued to embark for so long, like cattle to the slaughter- and there was no priority queue for suite passengers- which set the tone of service for the ...
The Cunard line is far too convinced of its own distinctive name. Sadly, the brand is more McDonalds than Michelin star. Perhaps it was the best line on offer at some point in the past, but we would never bother again. Ship was tired and shabby, noisy and creaky. Service was non existent. Everything was too hard for any staff member to consider. Butler? What butler? The food was average. Happy ...
After all the hype in the lead up what a disappointment to board a smelly ship no more than a floating retirement village including passengers dying or being taken by ambulance at every port. The food is bland and boring, the activities are what I would expect in my fathers nursing home. The ship is caustrophic with no outside dining the only option is to try your luck in not catching the "Cunard ...
