Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah (B1) Cabin Reviews

The cabin looked fresher and more stylish in person than it did in the photographs we saw online. Read Less

The verandah room we booked (8042) was average size but extremely well designed with numerous well-sized drawers and all the hangers one could possibly need, a large TV, roomy bathroom with double sinks and large tubes of quality toiletries. There are 2 hair dryers, an umbrella and excellent binoculars in each room. The balcony had 2 large wing chairs with deep cusions and a small table with room to move around. Read Less

Very nice stateroom. The verandah floor was teak, not the rubber mats found on other ships and had more comfortable chairs than on other ships. It was on the small side but nice. I loved the reading lights by the bed and the night light tucked under the full length mirror that lighted your way to the bathroom. The toilet was too close to the wall and it was easy to hit your head on the sink standing up or on the glass shelf above the sink. The shower/tub was great. I didn't need the double sinks, but nice for a couple. There was no plug in the bath for my electric toothbrush, so I had to plug it in on the desk. The closet was on the small side with limited hanging room and I hated its sliding doors which were awkward to use. I did appreciate the robe choices (warm or cool fabric) and the shoehorn, umbrella, sewing kit, lots of hangars and a tote bag. A first for me was provided binoculars. I really liked the electronic "do not disturb" or "clean room" signs and doorbell. Also the clock with night light. Read Less

Very nice, standard balcony cabin. It is right next to the "partial obstruction" for category B2, and in my opinion 8072 should also be rated B2, but the partial obstruction is mild enough that next time I might book it intentionally. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We were expecting to need to ask for mattress toppers (which we did on Symphony 2 years ago), but did not need to. The refrigerator did not keep things very cold. The refrigerator door is bolted to the cabinet door, and I suspect that it was not able to completely close. There was no way to check, since when it was closed the cabinet door also had to be closed. But our room attendant brought us fresh ice twice a day, so we were still able to have cold beverages when desired. She kept the refrigerator stocked with our favorite beverages. Crystal's standard rooms are on the small side for a luxury ship, but we found it very adequate in size. Read Less
