This was our second time on the Majesty of the Seas , so we knew what to expect. What we did not expect was 2 FREE days added to the back end of our cruise, Because of hurricane Dorian 2 extra days were added to the back end of our five day cruise, I have to say the the captain was on the P A system sometimes twice a day letting us know that because of the hurricane RCCL would stay out 2 days longer than planned and there would be NO added cost to passengers and Drink packages and internet packages would also be extended at NO extra charge. The only thing I wondered was the room attendants and waitstaff would be shafted on 2 days of gratuities because of our FREE days?? The ship is small and compact with easy access to everything, There are literally No steps so mobility issues are no problem, Food was good and drinks were a bit expensive if you don't have the drink package ($17 for a Mojito at the pool bar) Shows and entertainment were typical for a cruise ship and even the extra days there were production shows and performers. Overall Nice cruise , the only downside was downtime in the cabin the TV was TERRIBLE There were almost NO movies or TV shows , Everything was taped loops and cartoons or sports that most people don't follow. Royal you really need to improve your stateroom entertainment.. Read Less

We originally planned the cruise to go to Cuba but that destination was cancelled so went to Costa Maya and Cozumel, visited Chichen itza. We especially enjoyed the Aviary in Costa Maya that is a well kept secret and only $12 affording views and photo opportunities not only of the colorful birds but also the dolphin show below. We stayed on the sixth deck, room, bed, and pillows were comfortable. Our attendant, Michael was excellent! We loved the food without the need to do specialty restaurants, our head and assistant waiters, Ketut and Ivon were outstanding and friendly. Sitting with two other couples at dinner was a great idea as we quickly became friends and went to Karaoke and shows together Stopped to see Igede at the coffee shop at least twice a day and he always had a smile on his face and a kind word. Highlights included the shows in the Chorus Line including the three comedians, juggler, and singers, and dancers, including Karaoke were all outstanding. Overall, the staff were very friendly. I wish smoking were banned from the ship as sometimes we had to sit by smokers at the pool since these were the only seats available. Read Less

We cruised in mid August 2019 to Costa Maya & Cozumel. The main dining room & buffet dining room are warm, no need for a sweater. The staff do their jobs, provide good service, & keep everything clean. My advise to RC is to teach your staff to speak to customers. When you walk on board excited to start your vacation there are no staff at the entry door to welcome you and when you leave no staff thanks you for choosing RC or wishes you a safe trip home. The bartenders don't greet you with 'good morning' or ask if your having a good time, they just ask what you want. The room attendants and waiters in the main dining room are very friendly. When you pass staff walking around they avoid making eye contact, don't smile, & don't say a polite hello. Allot of the staff speak limited English. The food menus are very repetitive - 100% same food every morning on breakfast buffet; 80% same dinner menu in main dining room; & 80% same lunch buffet items - this gets very old quick. The entertainers in the theater are average. The pool side contests, couples trivia game show, and karaoke contest were our favorite. RC should leave a flyer in the guest staterooms on the last day explaining that if you did not purchase the pre-paid gratuities that they have automatically billed your stateroom account $14.50 per guest per day for gratuities. The only thing we got a blank tip envelope with no information on tipping guidelines or saying we were already charged the minimum gratuity automatically & the envelope was for extra tips, or how if the 1 envelope was for the stateroom attendant only. What is you wanted to leave an extra tip for bartenders or wait staff or cooks, there was no procedure for that. Overall the ship was quaint & not too crowded which was nice. We had a relaxing time. The other guests were polite and friendly. The ship could use an update again at this point, it's looking a bit outdated. The TV's in the cabins are like 16" small. Read Less
