I would not recommend NCL. After paying $4,800 for a week that was really 5 days, 6 nights we were nickel and dimed to death. From the moment we stepped foot onboard we were being solicited to sign up for next cruise. In 5 days we received 4 phone calls to our room with recorded messages to sign up for next cruise. They cared more about making ship announcements to sign up for next cruise then telling us where we were. When I would ask various crew members where we were they had no idea. They charge 3 times more for water then what I could purchase it for onshore. They charge for soft drinks! They charge for specialty restaurants, again after paying $4,800 for a room. The lines for shore excursions were always long. Customer service was polite but not helpful. Ship employees should know where we are by looking out windows unless they are new onboard. We were told by several people that this ship had recently had an outbreak of some sort of virus. I think we had the right to know that ahead of the cruise. I believe that is why all public areas were kept so cold that I got a respiratory infection. It was shivering cold for me. Had to wear jacket to dinner because of the cold temperatures in dining rooms. Drink package was quoted as $800 each plus the automatic 20% service charge on top of that. We set sail first night late which put us at first port late. By the time they figured out the tenders and got to our number it was 5:30 pm. We had specialty dinner reservation at 7 pm. We couldn’t debark and make that reservation, which we paid extra for and couldn’t cancel at that point so we missed the first stop Read Less

We did Mediterranean cruise, out of Venice. Embarkment was smooth and luggage arrived quickly. Our room was lovely and clean. We were midship with obstructed view window. All the staff was very friendly and the ship was constantly being cleaned, walls, doors etc. Food was very good, we bought upgrade dining and had 3 choices, we visited Cagneys, Le Bistro and La Cucina. Our favourite bar was Gatsby's, piano player was great. Pool was small but sufficient, lots of hot tubs. Loungers were available and tables also for playing cards etc. Music was great by the pool. The only glitch we had was first port tender, it was chaos and 2 hours late, no explanation given. Other 2 tenders were smooth. Disembarkment was also very smooth. Overall a nice cruise, Only went to one show, not our thing. We would rather have live music. Drink package was worthwhile, and premium vodka was included. We would recommend Norwegian. Read Less

We booked with Norwegian because our family members had had several positive experiences on previous cruises. our cruise was not the same caliber as previous cruises and several guests agreed. Upon boarding the ship, there was no welcome party. No special greeting. We just went to our room. There were less events available. Dining rooms are open for breakfast but they should be open for luch as well. Mid day options were limited. There were very few activities and those that were available had an extra charge. No make your own cupcake, or other classes. The rooms were clean and our cabin was cleaned regulary but we were looking forward to the towel figures and never got one. The staff was nice but not particularly hyping the crowd. Dining rooms were full and getting a table took almost an hour. As a result, we missed some of the shows because our meal ran late. The shows were just ok anyway. For our first cruise, it was ok but we were expecting spectacular. Read Less
