There were positive aspects to this cruise but enough negatives where we will not take another Princess cruise. Negatives: Lack of comfortable in-cabin seating (either the bed or one hard desk chair). Poor Main Dining experience--lack of variety, food was tasteless and cold. Poor Princess-arranged flight schedule and airport transfer--Almost missed the boat, arrived during muster. Return flights were too close together--first flight was late so we missed connection. Water/sewage problem/smell entire cruise. Almost every night water was shut off and unable to flush toilet. We occasionally experienced a sewage and/or moldy smell. Positive: Entertainment--cruise entertainment staff were excellent and put on a different show each night, Buffet dining, unlike the Main dining, was excellent. There was a large variety of interesting choices which were mostly delicious. There was plenty of seating even at the busiest of times. Staff was friendly and helpful. The destination lectures were very informative and thorough. Read Less

This by far is the best cruise we have ever had. We have been cruising for over 40 years. We have been doing so with many cruise lines but this one with Princess was the best. The entertainment was far superior to anything we have ever seen on a ship. The food was outstanding. The suite was great. The crew was exceptional. The embarkation and dis embarkation was the best organized and most efficient that I have ever seen. The value was tremendous. I highly recommend this ship and itinerary The productions were professional and Broadway quality. The food at all dinning rooms were exceptionally good. The crew were not only professional but courteous, helpful and professional.. The ship was very clean and beautiful. The ports and itinerary were fabulous. We really enjoyed going through the Panama Canal. The enrichment program with the very knowledgeable narrator was very good. There is no question in my mind the value and quality of this cruise surpasses all that I have seen. Read Less

Wanted to see the Panama Canal (knew it was just an in & out stop). The Island Princess is a great ship (abt 2000 passengers). Nice overall itinery, except Cartagena is a despicable town - a class A tourist trap - worthy of being avoided if possible (just stay on the boat and buy your emeralds in the US). Other than that, it was a wonderful ship, crew & Ship. Do make a point of scheduling a Deluxe Balcony Dinner early on. It is a bargain considering all that you get and the quality of the food (way better than the main dining room fare); also do the Bayou Cafe dinner (lobster or steak). The submarine ride along the coral reef at Georgetown, Caman Islands was fun - we went down to a depth of 107 ft. Seating is back-to-back down the centerline so everyone faces a porthole amd has a good view. Read Less
