When I first booked this cruise I was super pumped because a couple people I know have recommended Norwegian. Getting to the port and on the boat was a breeze and didn't have to wait long at all. When we got on the boat we were all directed to one of the buffet which was total chaos because there was so many people waiting in line, it was hot and very uncomfortable. Once everyone we couldn't even change in a different outfit because it took them all day to get our bags to our room so we weren't able to lay out or get in the pool. So we waled around the ship to find something to do and there was nothing. Everything opened up @ 5, so after finding out that everything didn't open up till 5 we went back to our room to check it out, just to be even more disappointed. We chose a cabin w/ out a window which was fine I wasn't expecting a big fancy room, but the room was very outdated and dirty, the light switches were ungodly disgusting I cleaned them myself because I couldn't believe how filthy they were, our bathroom door was falling apart and had rust on the bottom of the door. The bed was hard as a rock by the end of our cruise my back was screaming. Overall the cabin had good storage & Safe. Also our person who cleaned our room was fantastic and sweet. We had ate at the Buffet, both of the Main Dinings, Cafe, Steak House and Sushi Bar. I think we ate at the Buffet once the first day were they directed us, they did NOT have a good selection of food at all, I was not impressed. We ate at the Cafe for breakfast and lunch because half the food did not look appetizing in the buffet. We ate at the Main Dinings for dinner and they had good selection of food and was very yummy service was great in one area, the other dining room "Crossings" had terrible service I felt like I was waiting for my food forever, and he couldn't understand what I was saying so he kept forgetting items. After the second day of eating at the Main Dining rooms we decided to try the Steak House. Very Very good and very good service. We also tired the Sushi Bar, also very very good and also very good service! What really got to me was the entertainment on the boat, it was terrible. We didn't get off the boat for two of the locations because the weather for one wasn't the greatest and we've been to Nassau before. So we expected some activity on the boat for people who didn't get off. No there was absolutely nothing they did not accommodate to anyone who didn't get off the boat and like I said before nothing opened up till 5 like the casino or the shop. Couldn't really lay out in crappy weather. At night they would have shows but they were so crowded because they only had one giant area so half the people were standing so it wasn't enjoyable. But I've come to conclusion on this boat they have a open bar so why provide good food & good entertainment when you have a bunch of drunks on the boat? NOT IMPRESSED Read Less

Interiors are in excellent condition considering the fact that it was built in 1999. I expected this ship to be slightly worn out, but when I actually got on the ship it exceeded my expectations. Dining was indeed one of the finest experiences I've ever had in my life. The bar service considering that it's an open bar I was thinking that maybe there would be long lines, but I was absolutely wrong. there's always one or the other restaurant open to satisfy your hunger. every single crew member on the ship works really hard to make sure your vacation is filled with a lot of fun and a lot of food and drinks of course. So please be nice to them when I actually started the cruise I was not very happy about the $20 graduate d per day that Norwegian adds to per person. But by the time we departed from the cruise we were so impressed with the service that we walked around the ship, met the people who gave us exceptional service and gave them additional tips. The gratitude they expressed, was simply adorable. Al in all a perfect cruise for first timers like us. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the cost and especially because of the open bar. However, I did have to pay premium prices for the single malt scotch that I prefer. The crew were all great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. At first, I didn't like the ship, but she grows on you once you figure out how to navigate her. I had some issues with the food: not necessarily the quality of it, but the fact that many items are misrepresented on the menus. The Coquilles Saint Jacques were actually Seared Scallops; the trifle was actually a Jello Parfait. And the B-B-Q sauce on the chicken was poured from a gallon jug, tasting of liquid smoke. My biggest problem with the cruise, and I think that this is now an industry standard, is that a solo cruiser cannot be seated with others. I HATE to eat alone! Yet, I had to dine alone most of the time. All it takes is a simple question: "Would you like to dine with others, or alone?" My experience with the "My Bahamian House" excursion was probably the best ship's excursion that I have ever taken. A very pleasant surprise hit me in the face on Great Stirrup Cay. When I went to check out the Tenders, the first one I saw was "The Little Norway I" That sight immediately let loose a flood of emotions and pleasant memories. I had ridden to the Cay 23 years ago on that very same tender, As I did once in St. John, Newfoundland, and Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. These two tenders rode on the bow of the S.S. Norway. With all this being said, I would cruise on the Sky again. In fact, I am booked on the Sky for a Cuba cruise for my birthday in April '19. I will do the cruise if I can find a friend to go with me, as I cannot afford the double fare. And of course, that would probably solve the dining alone problem. All in all, the cruise was great fun and I look forward to cruising the Sky again. Read Less
