This was our 15th carnival cruise and the second ship of this class. We have sailed on the Dream 5 times. This is a nicely laid out ship. Not alot of choices of specialty restaurants. The only specialties are the steakhouse which we ate at 3 times. We paid for one and the Casino covered our dinner twice. We ate lunch at cucina Del Capitano. I really like it but my wife not so much. The only problem there was you could not sit in the restaurant to eat it was like a refrigerator inside the restaurant. For the size of the ship breakfast was a problem. There were always lines. A minimum of 20 minutes in line each morning. Going to the MDR was much better. Overall the food quality was good. The desert cakes were amazing. Overall the crew was great as always. They work hard for everyone onboard. On and off the ship in Port Canaveral is always a breeze. We spend time in the casino.I wish they would change the policy for some of the money raffles. If you have only 100 points you get the opportunity to win just like someone who may have 10000 points. A lot of times they will call a random name and they are not there because it seem they may have spent an hour in the casino and never came back. The policy should be changed that requires a minimum of 1000 points for your name to even to come up on the drawing. We on,y took one excursion in Amber Cove: We went to a couple of museums, had lunch and went to a Fort. It was interesting but would not do it again. Read Less

This cruise was chosen because we had never been to Grand Turk or Amber Cove. Also because we were celebrating our 50th anniversary. However, evidently they no longer care to make these occasions very special. This was not like the experience that our parents had when they were having their special anniversary celebrations. We have never felt more alone, ironically on a big ship full of people. We were seated at a table for 2, far from a window, rather than a larger table which we had requested. We tried unsuccessfully to be moved. We had to sit and observe other huge family groups having fun while we were stuck waiting for them to be served. It was boring and sad, as our family was unable to join us since we do not live in or near Florida. We mostly ate in the Lido restaurant at breakfast and sea day lunch. It was utter chaos, noisy and difficult to find a table. Lines for food were ridiculously long. The scrambled eggs were not real. After supper, there were no snacks available except for those who chose to wait in a long line for pizza. Instead, guests have to go to the candy shop to buy things like m & m s. There was a very surly bar waiter in the adults only serenity deck who did not want to serve nonalcoholic beverages (I was on antibiotics). He frightened us with his aggressive response to our simple inquiry, so we left the area. We saw him later in the dining room. The entertainment has deteriorated so much through the years. Now there is no broadway style show or musical, no burlesque, no ballroom dancing, no shuffleboard. So if you like comediens, take a Carnival cruise. Or if you like to watch children's puppets. Bingo was ok. And there was an excellent singing duo Magic and Magic but the bar area dance floor was tiny. There was also a good violin trio by another bar. People hogged the pool area loungers, so we could never get a chance to use one. The casino was completely smoky and no one was winning anything. We had pre-booked 2 excusions, and one was cancelled. They waited until we were on board to do this and then said it had been discontinued for a couple of months. Lines were long for excursions. And on the first 2 days, the lines for Guest Relations were horrendous. Those with internet connection problems had to wait in this line instead of having a dedicated internet area. We would have enjoyed ourselves more if we had stayed home. And none of our previous cruises ever made us feel so disappointed. Read Less

We had a bad odor in our room. Carnival did nothing to correct the issue. 2 family members got sick. Customer service was uncaring and nonexistent. Terrible. Many other passengers were complaining about the ship. It is older and has rust in most places. The food was terrible. We got the kids hamburgers and the buns on both were hard and stale. The kids asked to get something else. Not a lot in the was of selection either. The room service was terrible. we did not have an cabin steward for 2 days. The guy who was supposed to be filling in never brought us any towels etc. The entertainment was cancelled due to the stage and lighting not working. They were supposed to have a magic show but it did not work. So they substituted singers to throw together a signing show that was awful. If you want to waist your money go ahead but this is not a ship carnival should have on the seas.. Terrible. Read Less
