We had chosen this cruise because our son loves Mickey and the characters. All I can say is they go above and beyond. We chose the shorter trip because my wife has major motion sickness (she took a patch). Everything was so clean, events were well organized, so much to do, food was very good for all ages. There was a hiccup our first night dining as we were the late group. The second night and on we were Wow'd. Then they seated us in our private table and wow, the staff was so good. One of the best staff's I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. Very interactive with our son and us and you can tell they were in sync as a team. They knew how, what, and when we liked in our orders to a T. We expected good service and received the best, as in the gourmet restaurants we had been to. The staff was excellent, they personalized everything, Bahama excursion to Atlantis is a must. 99% of the trip you had barely noticed that you were on the ship, moving. Bahama excursion was well laid out and organized. We were able to enjoy the aquarium, beaches, casino (no), and food that was located there. Food and beverage to purchase but wow, you can spend a whole day there. We felt safe and secure as the staff at Atlantis welcomed you also. Pirates theme night was awesome as my son enjoyed the live shows, movies while he swam, and of course the all you can eat ice cream (he took advantage of that). If you have younger children, it is a must for Oceanaire's club. We were kind of wary to let him go by himself at first..but boy..it was pulling teeth to get him to come out. He always wanted to go back. He loved Star Wars, how to draw, and Toy Story theme areas. He made many friends there. Disney Castaway..what can you say. Bring your snorkel gear, find hidden treasures, swim, sunbathe, and enjoy such a relaxing time. Food is good. My son loved it. "Best time of his life." Cabin was nice, ok in size. We did a Veranda...we had spent only 10 minutes using it. Probably will skip out next time as we had spent 99% of our time exploring, in the pool, activities, and eating. You will almost never be in your room. We are not big cruise folks, we prefer hotels and site seeing but wow, we will definitely go back. We may go again this year. Read Less

My mother and father recently retired and both wanted to try a short cruise. I also have a 3 year old daughter who lives Minnie Mouse. I thought a Disney Cruise would be the perfect fit for all of us. I've been to Disney world in the past and thought it was wonderful and had heard amazing things about the cruise so I decided to book it for Christmas. Turns out this was the biggest mistake I've ever made. The staff that deals with boarding and disembarking the ship are rude and very unhelpful. The cruise itself was extremely overcrowded. You are shoulder to shoulder with people whenever traveling outside of your stateroom. There are no random character meetings as I was led to believe. For any character you want to see you have to stand in a line for upwards of 30 minutes, which is no fun for a 3 year old. I bought the picture package but then was told that I had to hunt down the photographers and that there was no guarantee they would be there at any of the character meetings, or dinners, or shows and that I should also be prepared to take my own pictures just in case. Needless to say after checking my portfolio on day 2 and having zero pictures in it I cancelled the package. The dining rooms are extremely boring for kids. There is no entertainment and the service is so slow every night that the 5:45 seating doesn't finish until 8:00 which leaves you rushing right to the shows. The shows are the only good thing, but get there early because the theater fills up and lines start forming well in advance. The food is also cold and disgusting. The kids club does have many activities, however the kids can only do them if parents leave them there. I was hoping to do that and have no some adult time, however the one time I left my daughter she came out with a huge bruise on her foot which they did not say anything about and couldn't answer to when I asked. The second time I attempted to drop her off I saw little children taking thick plastic buckets and pulling them all the way down over their faces which is clearly a suffocating hazzard. The staff there was just standing around talking to each other and ignoring what the kids were doing. Only when I yelled out to them that it was a danger did they tell the kids to take them off their heads. Needless to say I did not leave my daughter in their care. Read Less

It was a military family event, grands never been on a cruise. I wasn't gung ho on being on a Disney Cruise, I am well over that. For the kids though and for you Disney freaks , I must say it was worth what we paid. It's like the Magic Kingdom on steroids without the rides and on the water. Plenty of activities and characters all over the place. Kids entertainment area was awesome, something only Disney can pull off. The ship reminded me of the Grand Floridian Hotel. As a veteran cruiser(40 plus) I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food at the restaurants, no WOW factor there. The service all around was good, some better some worse . Would I do it again?...Only if my other grands go on their first time cruise. Otherwise The Granps will stick to the adult ships. Nassau we didn't get off as we have been there too many times. Castaway Cay was very good, nicely kept, plenty of chairs, kids area, and decent service.BBQ was great! Don't be shocked at the cruise prices though, typical Disney fashion , you want Mickey/Minnie you pay for it. Oh boy!!!! Read Less
