Wait until we have already checked in our luggage. Join a line. Then get handed a letter listing itinerary changes. TO LATE TO CANCEL THE CRUISE WITHOUT LOSING 100%. We have been on the Norwegian Star before and always regarded NCL as the best cruise line we have ever been on. Recommended it to all our relations & friends. Well, NOT THIS TIME! The itinerary changes were atrocious to say the least. NO Mikonos NO Santorini. We specifically booked a " no days at sea cruise ". We got 2 days at sea!! Also a trip to Split which was a destination I would NEVER have chosen to visit. To add insult to injury, the list of itinerary changes issued in Venice changed yet again with zero explanation from the dismal ship Captain. Don't get me wrong. We are NOT serial complainers. Our Suite was lovely. Food was quite perfect. Crew, on the large part were perfect, apart from a totally ignorant and arrogant Maitre D in O'Shehans bar that really needs a lesson in manners and learning to be a real human being. I said " don't talk to me in that tone of voice", she replied " I talk to everyone like that". I say I will make a formal complaint about her. Her reply was " I couldn't care less". We were generously give $100 each as a compensation for our itinerary changes which HAD TO BE SPENT ON BOARD ON GROSSLY GROSSLY OVERPRICED MERCHANDISE & SERVICES. Read Less

We chose the specific cruise for Santorini and Mykonos. These ports were cancelled due to ship mechanical failure. We also didn't get to stop in Bar, Montenegro - - not sure why. I understand mechanical difficulties. But I don't understand corporate greed who did not refund any of the cruise payments. We got $200 per cabin, on board credit. . . what an insult. Everything is already marked up 200% to begin with. Food was ok. Entertainment was nothing to rave about. Only one production show - and it got cancelled due to boat movement. Every one of the musicians on the boat were Asian-speaking people . . and they were trying to sing English songs - very poorly. Most of the songs were from 20 years ago. The ship was decent looking, but nothing special. We've been on most of the other cruise line ships and this one had nothing unique or special. I will say I was pleased that the Internet Cafe was finally out of the closet and open/accessible to people. This cruise was a once in a lifetime experience and NCL blew it. Corporate NCL took the low road and put profits over people. They will be reimbursed by insurance to cover lost revenue for the mechanical failures - - - no loss to them. It's the customers who lost the most. If we are able to afford a future cruise, it will certainly not be with NCL. Read Less

The ship (Norwegian Star) didn’t make it to 3 of the 6 scheduled destinations, 2 of which were the highlights of the trip, Santorini and Mykonos. They added 2 new ports but we only made it to 1. It was disappointment after disappointment. This also happened to the cruise right before us but Norwegian decided to sail with the Star again anyways, even though they knew the ship had major mechanical issues. We were given minimal compensation for the missed ports. To address our issues, we were given a phone number that does not connect to a person. Instead, everything must be addressed via email. On top of all of this, the cruise staff was rude and unhelpful while on the cruise. The evening shows were great. We liked our balcony suite room. It came in handy with all the additional time at sea we weren’t supposed to have on this trip. The dining experience was disorganized and chaotic. Even with a reservation and paying extra for specialty dining, things always seemed to go wrong with either the staff or the reservation. The most disappointing vacation we’ve been on. We will never sail Norwegian Cruise Line again. Read Less
