Pelorus Island is located within Australia's Great Barrier Reef, 800 metres north of Orpheus Island in the Palms Island group.
Small ship cruise line Coral Expeditions has a private lease on a section of land on the southern side of the island, which means it gets very few visitors. The rest of the island is equally quiet, making it the perfect place to dive or snorkel to see hard and soft corals, turtles, manta rays, pipefish and other marine life.
The National Park area is great for a guided nature walk of the island's rainforest interior or to spread out a towel and relax.
