About Baffin Island

Located in the Arctic, north of Labrador Sea, Baffin Island is the largest island in Canada and is mostly covered in glaciers. Adventurous travelers can embark on an expedition cruise to see the glaciers and tundra up close and perhaps even visit a native Inuit village in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Depending on the time of year, you may even be able to view the Northern Lights.

If your cruise ship disembarks, you can visit Sirmilik National Park where native polar bears, narwhals and beluga whales live. Visitors can go skiing, kayaking or take a trip to Katannilik Territorial Park, which has played a significant role in the culture and survival of the Inuit people. But even if your cruise is a scenic one, through the fjords and calving glaciers, visiting Baffin Island is a breathtaking experience.
