About Cruising to Point Pleasant

Point Pleasant is a small town situated where the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers meet in West Virginia and is a fun port stop for cruisers with a taste for Americana. The town even has a bit of American Revolution history on display. At Krodel Park, visitors can tour Fort Randolph and maybe even take in a Revolutionary War re-enactment.

Those interested in quirky and paranormal sights should know that Point Pleasant is best known as the home of the "Mothman" -- the subject of an urban legend and "The Mothman Prophecies" film starring Richard Gere. Original press clippings from the events that shaped the legend and props from the movie are on display at the Mothman Museum. A visit to the Point Pleasant River Museum on the other hand, gives visitors the chance to learn about the town's less mysterious past.
