New to Seabourn but not to cruise travel

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Quest

User Avatar

DW and I have been on dozens of cruises over the past 40+ years and now that we are retired and blessed to afford more luxury travel options, we have started trying out the luxury cruise lines starting with Seabourn. We booked the Quest transatlantic crossing from Miami to Las Palmas sailing on March 24. We booked with our preferred travel agent into a Verandah Suite and in December we accepted ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Gem

This was a transatantic from rome to new york. i did this cruise last year on ncl epic and didn't much like it, but i've been on the gem and other gem class ships and you were never in doublt you were on a ship, no matter where you were. it looked like a cruise ship, smelt like a cruise ship everyone knew. the giant floating shopping centers don't appeal to me. i don't want to have to board ...

Excellent Service, Food Needs Improvement

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

This was our 45th cruise overall and our 3rd time on Seabourn. Seabourn is our favorite line because of the conviviality of our fellow passengers. We were traveling with family and all of us had a good time, relaxing, enjoying an excellent level of service, attentive but not fussy. It was an Atlantic crossing, but there were enough activities on board, including some very good enrichment ...

Exceeded my expectations!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Solo traveler...I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Partially blocked oceanview cabin was a delight...larger than cabins on newer ships. Stewards were awesome as were all staff. I was on Deck 8 midship...perfect location. Spent an overnight in Lisbon before embarkation...loved it. Lisbon is a beautiful hilly city that requires some stamina...but worth the effort. Embarkation was a breeze. Food was ...

Enjoyable Transatlantic Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oosterdam

User Avatar

6-10 Cruises • Age 60s

We chose this cruise because a Transatlantic cruise has been on our bucket list, we liked the itinerary, and we had two previous enjoyable cruises on HAL (one on Oosterdam and one on Zaandam). We have been fortunate that all three HAL cruises have been in a Neptune Suite, which is a special experience. This cruise didn't go as planned, because a large storm caused an itinerary change. We had ...

My first crossing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

After more than 50 cruises (even because I am a retired ship auditor), this was my first crossing, which we decided to take because my son-in-law is one of the ship's officers and my daughter and grandson were together on this trip. We boarded the ship at Rome-Civitavecchia and disembarked at Miami 13 days later. I've been on board this ship many times for shipboard audits and I know well ...

Lovely Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

We were on the Silhouette for our first transatlantic cruise. Was wonderful! The ship is beautiful, food in Blu and the buffet was consistently great, and staff were very friendly. After 11 nights, we still felt the food variety was excellent. Our stateroom attendant was the best! Gym is perfect and has everything you need. I was surprised to read some of the other reviews because our ...

Met Expectations

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

User Avatar

This was our sixth transatlantic cruise, the second on the Getaway and our eighth overall on an NCL vessel. Our cruise and the Getaway were par-for-the-course meeting expectations. No surprises or unexpected disappointments...It's one of the big ships with all the competitive bells & whistles. The staterooms & bathrooms are clean, somewhat spacious, comfortable and practical. A shortage of ubs ...

Decent start terrible end

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

User Avatar

Lots of odd things brought this cruise down starting with the rather strange layout of the ship, the change to main dining times with both being brought forward 30 minutes, the very noisy main dining rooms thanks to the DD layout and of course the redirection of the ship due to hurricane Tammy. Boarding at Southampton was efficient as ever, Vigo was wet, I stayed on in Lisbon, the Canary Island ...

Super ship, great staff, post-Covid food a bit disappointing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

User Avatar

10+ Cruises • Age 50s

Overall, we had a fabulous cruise for 16 days from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale with excellent stops in France, Spain and Portugal. As my cabin mate has a cane and is Elite, we were put in a faster queue for boarding, which went extremely well. The Regal Princess is a stunning ship! I especially enjoyed midship on Decks 15 and 16 where you can see the front and rear of the ship from one ...
