Sailed on our 1st ever cruise on the Sky in 2003.

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

Chose this busy 14 day, 14 port cruise out of Dominican Republic for a great itinerary. We sailed this ship on our 1st ever cruise in 2003 when we still had kids. The ship is now the oldest NCL ship I believe and one of the smallest. We sailed out of La Romana after flying into Punta Cana on Superbowl weekend. The port: La Romana is a nice port with plenty to do. Unfortunately, the D.R. is ...

I do not recommend

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Divina

The ship may be beautiful, but the organization is terrible. Not enough tables in the main restaurant, not enough sunbeds by the pool. Daily lack of Jameson Whiskey, Jack Daniels, Brandy etc and carbonated water!!!! at the bar of the Black Crab Restaurant and other restaurants that were included in the drink package I purchased. The evening dancing in the black crab restaurant full of alcohol ...

Good Time on the Jewel

Overall, we had an very good experience. The crew was outstanding- knowledgeable, efficient and had good senses of humor. Food was a little uneven in the main dining room and certainly not to pre-pandemic standards. On lobster night, my wife and I had to laugh at the smallest tails we'd ever seen. We had a three night dining package and were disappointed in Chops Grille. It was nothing ...

Went on this cruise because we had been on the Jade before and it was really fantastic.Hmmm well not any more really disappointing, the food was just awful and very repetitive, hardly any choice, there was just nothing that I could say I enjoyed.its really sad as I was really looking forward to it. All the staff seemed fed up as though they didn’t want to be there,I was not happy as the toilet ...

Do Not go on the Jade=-An expensive mistake

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Where do I begin: Bad food, lack of dining space, high prices for everything including tips and surcharges. Two good restaurants: The buffet and Murano (with additional charges, expensive). The room (family room) had a drop down bunk bed. Had to get onto the bed sideways. Room very tight to move around; no real place to sit down! Safe inacessible for a short person (I am 4-11 1/2). ...

Huge drop in quality at NCL

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Well as a huge fan of the Jade and loyal NCL cruiser I can not argue with a lot of the recent negative reviews. My travel group came with an open mind but we feel very let down by NCL. They have obviously cut back on many things however, there short sighted savings will actually cost them more as loyal customers go elsewhere. The buffet has very little choice with the same dishes repeated many ...

Great Time on NCL

My wife and I enjoyed our 11 day NCL cruise on the Jade very much. The food was excellent as was the entertainment. Every evening we went to the Stardust Theater and enjoyed a variety of entertainment from a comedian, singers, Blazing Boots Show, acrobatics, even the hypnotist was fun. We enjoyed the gym every day. The equipment was nice with plenty of room to work out as we choose. We had ...

Southern Caribbean Getaway

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I planned on visiting friends in both Barbados and Tobago, which I did. The only problem with the itinerary is the San Juan departure port which is cumbersome to get to. The Jewel although one of RCI's older ships was clean and well maintained and really doesn't show her age. Some aspects like the tiny pools and small windjammer buffet do harken to ...

14 Day Southern Caribbean cruise

We took this cruise as a "back-to-back" cruise with a 15 Day Panama Canal cruise on the same ship. We changed cabins from aft port hole to aft interior. This was to try out these types of cabins, and see what the experience is like without a balcony of our own - and honestly, to see if these far less expensive cabins would serve us as well as the balcony / suite cabins. We found that the two ...

Disappointed in our second Celebrity Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

Celebrity Silhouette January 29 to February 8, 2024 Our goal was to get away from the cold northern states, and we mostly enjoyed very nice weather. We booked this southern Caribbean cruise right after our first, very positive sailing with Celebrity. Unfortunately, this sailing was not comparable to our transatlantic on the Constellation. Precruise: We flew direct to FLL and stayed ...
