Superb Cruise Yet Again

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

This was our 6th cruise with Celebrity. We are in our eighties and have cruised 19 times. This was a cruise to the Dutch Islands of the Caribbean. As usual we made use of an outstanding cruise consultant with Expedia Cruises. All the necessary information is on the Celebrity web site. The Celebrity App is really needed to avoid confusion. However, in our case, going cruising is ...

English Pub is for tiniest tushies

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

The staff were always kind and helpful. The ship was VERY clean and safe. My main complaint is that 85% of the seats in the English pub POKE YOU on both sides when you try to sit in them. I commented on this to fellow attendees and they all moaned about the discomfort of that pub's chairs. The obvious is "Don't sit there!" I know, but it was the location of the daily meet and greet for newcomers ...

What a delightful cruise. Excellent crew/staff on the cruise ship, wonderful excursions. The ship was small and ready for a refurb, but it made good use of the space. I highly recommend Alligators by Night and Rubber Planation and Indigenous Village in Manaus, as well as Piranha Fishing in Santarem. Trinidad was a great port, the friendliest one we visited in Caribean. Tamarind pop-up ...

Cruising the Wrong Direction & Invisible Captain

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

This was a boring and dull experience with an invisible Captain George. Saw him the first night and again at Captains Club event...then who knows where he was or what to expect each day of the trip?? This was the opposite from our experience with Captain Leo on the Eclipse - so friendly, visible and informative. Cruising in February to the Caribbean on this ship was so disappointing - a real ...

Great Service, Food and Amenities

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

After reading dozens of reviews here about the Equinox, I echo just about everything mentioned. The ship is in excellent shape for being 15 years old and the lack of even a single outlet on either side of the bed was a sore point with my wife and I. Even the two outlets on the desk fell way short of what we required. Thankfully Celebrity fixed this on the newer ships such as the Beyond, which we ...

Great Wifi, Service, and Luminae!

Just got off the Celebrity Equinox (10 day cruise out of Fort Lauderdale to Aruba, Grand Cayman, and Curacao) and thought I would post my review while everything was still fresh! We did the Retreat Class (Celebrity Suite) which was remarkable and in our opinion worth the extra price. The service on this ship is another level. Every single staff member seemed to want to make your cruise ...

Lost a bit of her luster

We have only sailed with Celebrity Cruises (6 in the last 10 years). It’s sad to see that post-Covid, despite investing in refurbishing their ships, they’ve taken away some of the things that made it a 5-star experience. No longer are you greeted with champagne or a mimosa on entry. In AquaClass rooms, no more daily tea, fruit or canapés. I’m told that’s for concierge class now but AquaClass ...

Great new itinerary

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

User Avatar

6-10 Cruises • Age 60s

This is a new cruise that Norwegian is testing. Starts in Dominica Republic, goes to 14 islands in 14 days, southern swinging up eastern back to Dominica Republic. It’s on the Norwegian Sky. Older, smaller ship but refurbished a few years ago. Because it’s a smaller ship, able to get into smaller islands. Only one tender to a private island. Lots of beaches, lots of cultural experiences and some ...

Chose this busy 14 day, 14 port cruise out of Dominican Republic for a great itinerary. We sailed this ship on our 1st ever cruise in 2003 when we still had kids. The ship is now the oldest NCL ship I believe and one of the smallest. We sailed out of La Romana after flying into Punta Cana on Superbowl weekend. The port: La Romana is a nice port with plenty to do. Unfortunately, the D.R. is ...

Celebrity getting better again (mostly!)

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

After half a dozen cruises with X with falling standards, we went to another company for 2 cruises but decided to give them another chance. Happy to say that in the main, things had got better. Embarkation was good with the exception of needing to show paper copies of Esta, which neither couple knew about. Although I had copies on my phone I needed to locate them but wasn’t given a chance, with ...
