So So, Average, Meh, Mid, Boring

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

Words to describe our first time on Princess: average, uninspired, meh, just ok. We usually cruise on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, but since Crown Princess had a sailing out of SF during our ski week, we decided to try it. Going in, I knew it would be a smaller ship without the activities of an Oasis class RC ship. What I didn't expect was how average it all was. Nothing blew us away. We ...

Small boat, worst buffet, overcrowded

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Emerald Princess

This was my third Princess cruise, and this boat should not have 4.5/5 stars. It’s really worn with marked up and beat up furniture, musty hallway carpet, and rusted railings. We had a mini suite and I felt transported to season 10 of the original Love Boat—in the 80s. The crew wasn’t as friendly as previous voyages, they all seemed exhausted. Many of the services I liked on previous ships ...

This was my 11th O cruise and over 70th overall. O began to scare me a bit here. We have generally been happy with the cruises over the years. This time here are my pros and concerns Pros - Crew service was top notch. We had a couple small things were we could not get served in the Martini bar but it was a one off. Wait staff was as good as any line afloat - Piano bar performer ...

This was our third cruise with Oceania. Once on Riveria and the other on Marina. Those two cruises were wonderful. We were impressed by the quality of the foods in all of the restaurants and the friendliness of all staff. The daily golf games were fun and interacting with the other passengers was encouraged. When we returned home we were very satisfied and thought of when we would plan ...

Repositioning Cruise

We chose this cruise because we live in Southern CA and it was less travel to be on a cruise. We haven't gone for a number of years, for obvious reasons, and looked forward to the days at sea, port activities, and the destinations. The first afternoon on the ship, we went to the "app" to get dinner reservations for that night and found out that we did NOT have dinner (table or time) for the entire ...

Really BAD Food, NCL Theme is “SELL, SELL, SELL”

Think about the food this way: You will enjoy it if you liked what they served in your high school cafeteria! We did not enjoy the specialty restaurants either (we did Le Bistro and the “Brazilian Steakhouse”). The main dining room was only OK on a couple of nights. The Chin-Chin restaurant was horrible. Not a shrimp to be found on this ship. Smoked salmon? An extinct species. ...

My husband and I are in our late-30's/mid-40's, and we have been on 10+ cruises together. Our last cruise was in December 2019. This was our first post-Covid cruise. Also, our only other Celebrity cruise was back in 2015, and it was out of the Mediterranean. This was our first time taking a Celebrity cruise out of the States. Pre-Cruise: We stayed two nights at an Airbnb in the Belmont Shore ...

So many disappointments! Dining room service was horrible

I sailed on this ship with the same itinerary in November, 2021 and we loved it. So, we decided to do it again on the November 5, 2022 sailing. BIG MISTAKE! Embarkation on day 1 was one hour behind schedule. We had to wait in line in the very warm sun with no shade. We were supposed to depart San Diego at 4pm. We finally made it out of the harbor at 6:30pm. Again, I don't know why we were ...

So we are on a California Coast cruise. Neptune Suite. Have not been on a HAL for 3 years. A lot has changed. New rooms and refreshed ship. That’s nice. No crowded on deck initial safety muster drill. Replaced by scanning your room card at your muster stations. Easier. If you do the Neptune Suite expecting the usual priority boarding, disembarkation, usual exclusive perks, full food selection of a ...

We lost 2 cruises due to Covid and this was our choice to use our FFC. Embarkation was a mess. We were delayed one hour in the sun, on the pier in San Diego, several passengers were affected by the heat and required the assistance of others in line, there was no Holland America presence to offer them assistance. We found the crew to be pleasant and friendly. Menu items in the main dining ...
