Review for a Africa Cruise on Silver Spirit

We have toured South Africa before ...Cape Town and Garden route route by road. We wanted to try a cruise for the first time as it included two stops in Namibia with Silver Spirit. At least is what was planned. After our booking Luderitz was cancelled in Namibia and came off the schedule due to so called operational challenges! And hooray was the message therefore an extra day in Cape Town! Having ...

This was our 21st cruise. Having sailed before with Princess, Celebrity and Cunard. We chose this cruise firstly for the itinerary and secondly for the fact that this was supposed to be a luxury cruise. We searched and searched and could not find the luxury that was supposed to be aboard this vessel. In fact what we found was a ship in need of modernising and updating. The ships overall ...

My wife and I chose this cruise to finish a self managed holiday as we were in Europe and wanted to travel through the Suez Canal to Dubai and this cruise had the stops we wanted included three days in Egypt. My wife and I cruised the Silver Spirit from Athens to Dubai in late October through to mid-November 2023 and now have had time to reflect on the experience from booking through to ...

Great itinerary with very interesting ports alas the highlight ports were cancelled without being informed of this change and no interesting ports were added. Embarkation was easy and organised The highlight were the exceptional staff especially cabin dinner and entertainment staff so friendly and cooperative Poor nightly shows the best was done by the crew Good was good except not ...

Improvements needed

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Splendida

The ship itself is wonderful, well laid out, constant cleaning & maintenance daily. Very clean & fantastic staff in bars, pool area’s & toilets. The buffet has plenty of choices although food could be hotter at times. My biggest gripe are the reception & excursion staff. I’m not sure how they were employed as customer service should be first & fore within any company. Arrogant & ...

Review for a Africa Cruise on Crystal Symphony

We had sailed on the Symphony prior to the pandemic and were extremely pleased with it. We booked this cruise expecting to continue our feelings towards Crystal. The entertainment, lectures, art class, spa, butler, room attendants, dining in Osteria and uni uma all met these high expectations. Dining in the Marketplace was generally good but there were some mishaps. Our overall cruise was severely ...

World Cruise Itinerary needs to be changed and “Value our loyalty” I would dispute

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Coral Princess

Having done more than 20 cruises with Princess, I understood what their “loyalty program” meant and why we aspired to be Elite members. Today is so different, the speeches remain the same but nothing else. Gone are the precious internet minutes; discounts in the shops are only on full priced items; no special toiletries in the bathrooms; and reduced access to the Captain Circle rep on board. ...

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Coral Princess

A second world cruise this one to celebrate retirement and selling my business at 73. Compared to 2011 the list of changes makes for a ho-hum experience. The major is that Princess has gone back on their Loyalty Programme that I joined 15 years ago, The major is that elite was promised free internet and now have to pay. That cost me 1000 dollars additional, Perhaps I would have reluctantly ...

Not our best NCL cruise

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Sun

User Avatar

NCL 2 for 1 FLIGHTS: They booked us from PHX-MIA on American Airlines, our go-to airline, where we received a "Complementary" upgrade to 1st Class. Our 2nd trip in a row to have that happen. We flew home on SouthWorst – all flights delayed, baggage arrived on 2 different flights. NCL SHUTTLE FROM MIA-PORT: Our flight arrived VERY early so we had time to eat breakfast before we caught the ...

Old Ship, Needs Work, Great Crew Though

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Sun

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

To be clear, this was my first cruise, so I don't have anything to compare it to, or any sense of what is typical on a cruise ship. The Sun is an older ship and could really benefit from some updating and repairs. Many people that I spoke with had mechanical problems in their cabins, though most were promptly fixed by the crew. I had an issue with the thermostat in my cabin. It didn't work, so ...
