Great Ship Shame About The Rest

Review for Pride of America to Hawaii

We really enjoy the relaxation a cruise provides and were looking forward to sailing on the Pride Of America around the Hawaiian Islands leaving Honolulu Jan 7th 2013 returning Jan 14th 2013 . We love Hawaii and have been there many times and visited all Islands, so thought why not see the islands from a Cruise ship. However:If you want to spend the day watching the Hawaii Islands drift by ...

We chose this San Diego round-trip cruise to avoid plane flights and because we enjoy Hawaii. First, boarding the cruise in San Diego too over two hours because of the Port Authority inability to expedite boarding,. Second, all the Specialty restaurants were closed for half the voyage because of staffing shortages (per maitre d'). The food offerings in the Main Dining room and especially on the ...

We chose this particular voyage to sail out of San Diego (first time) and escape the winter cold to Hawaii. Having been on 16 prior Princess ships, we had learned to expect the normal of "Princess perfect" for this voyage, also. Alas, this wasn't to be the case. Embarkation: Both the Diamond Princess and Disney Wonder were simultaneously in port. We discovered that the Port of San Diego is ...

We choose this particular cruise to Hawaii for the itinerary, after trying for the past two years to sail there and being cancelled due to Covid restrictions. While the sail was not a disaster sailing out of San Diego is a disaster. While being issued a boarding time by Princess an d arriving g a the scheduled time we waited 1 hour in line to drop off our luggage and then another 1 1/2 hours to go ...

Holiday Cruise to Hawaii with Family

Review for Crown Princess to Hawaii

My husband (John) and I recently took our son, DIL, and (most importantly!) our two preteen grandchildren on a 15-day holiday cruise to Hawaii aboard the Crown Princess. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary and the fact that we had large credits from the canceled cruise segment of our Alaska cruise/tour (three of us tested positive for COVID-19 at the last lodge), which had to be used by ...

We were excited to sail to Hawaii and back over the Christmas & New Year’s holidays. We chose Princess because the dates aligned with our schedule, and they sailed in and out of Los Angeles, so we wouldn’t have to deal with airports during the busy holiday season. We knew from previous sailing experience that Princess doesn’t have the “best” food, however, we did have an expectation that it ...

I would post a review under their review page, but I feel like that is a space for people who need to create an account and vent about issues they have. I used these boards and asked many questions with this community prior to going on my PoA cruise, so thought I'd give a summary here and allow anyone who had any follow-up questions to post those and I would respond as best I could since I did a ...

Customer service line was full all cruise, Free at Sea sounds great, but a headache to use.

If it weren't for Hawaii, cruise would have seriously bombed. Hawaii fixes a lot. We are frequent cruisers and this was a let down, even though we paid more than any other cruise we have taken. Ship used half staff and claimed half passengers. So half the ship is always closed. Most specialty restaurants closed. Staff can't keep up with basic services and are grumpy. They pass the buck and ...

Entertainment. Poor overall. Didn’t warm to the cruise director personally, prefer a more mature director. No decent shows, only went to theatre once and that was enough. Food. Started off ok but got better as the cruise went on. Didn’t feel the Crown Grill was as high end as we’ve had on previous Princess cruises but was still nice. Sabitinis excellent. Buffet was ok but food usually cold. ...

A disappointing experience

My wife and I had been on one other cruise prior to this one. It was on the Discovery Princess to Alaska in June, 2022. We enjoyed it very much. So we decided to take the 15-day cruise to Hawaii, from LA, on the Crown Princess in December 2022. There were no health restrictions required and we felt that it would be a safe trip. One of our hard-shell suitcases was cracked when it was delivered ...
