From a first (but not last!) time cruiser...

Review for Norwegian Sky to Bahamas

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

My wife and I took this as a "makeup" cruise for our 5 year anniversary, which was supposed to be a week aboard the Encore back in January. Unfortunately we got COVID three days before embarkation. Long story short, we were able to squeeze this shorter cruise aboard the Sky. We are first time cruisers, so keep in mind this review comes from someone who has not seen all the bells and whistles of ...

Bad value, poor staff

Review for Mariner of the Seas to Bahamas

I cruised royal Caribbean a few years ago and had a great time. This time around, I've found it to be a shadow of what it was from even a few years ago. The number of activities was far fewer. The food quality, preparation, and potions lower. Large blocks where child care was unavailable including during formal dining. And between myself and others in my group there were so few positive staff ...

Amazing experience with a few caveats

Review for Celebrity Equinox to Caribbean - Western

I haven't cruised in a long time, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I will say I was largely impressed with the experience on the Equinox and the good certainly outweighed the bad. I broke my review down into the good and the bad. All the "goods" weighed equally to me. The "bads" I listed from what I see as bigger issues down to more minor knits. The good (in no particular order): The ...

First cruise in 35 years.

Review for Celebrity Equinox to Caribbean - Western

First off allow me to be clear- I am not what you would call a cruise veteran. My only prior cruise experience was 37 years ago. Of course things have changed in this time. But I do not feel that changed for the better. I am going to address the food first. The main banquet dining on Deck 14 had a huge variety, but the quality was pretty poor. I was rather shocked by this given the reputation ...

My experience will be unforgettable because it wasn't good at all. Starting from the breakfast,we had to wait about 15 min to enter because there was no table available as they were saying to us but there were many as far as we could saw. We asked for marmalade the 2nd day and they told us was finished ,but the table next to us had. The shows were a disaster. After dinner there was al.ost nothing ...

Would 100% sail with this crew again

Review for Celebrity Infinity to Caribbean - Eastern

I think we spoiled ourselves a little when we booked this cruise. I was concerned after reading many of the latest reviews of her but honestly we did not have the issues that mamy have complained about, but maybe we have different standards. We had suite 1130 and the only thing I wish I would have known was that our balcony would always have light due to the staircase next to us. We ate at Blu ...

Another Great Oasis Cruise

We enjoy sailing from Bayonne New Jersey in the summer- our annual Summer cruise. This cruise was 9 nights so we had bonus days. The terminal now is much more crowded as it used to accommodate smaller ships. When we enter the terminal area, we dropped off our luggage, then proceeded to an outdoor parking lot as the main indoor lot was full. Since we were in a suite, we had an early boarding ...

Great cruise, a few disappointments

Our waiter was EXCELLENT!!! Our stateroom attendant was also great and kept our cabin in tip top shape. Crew was great! Ship is beautiful. Food is okay, Windjammer dessert isn't good and they never had vanilla ice cream. Windjammer is too crowded for breakfast. I would like to see more daytime activities. Not much going on during the day. Nightlife was pretty good. However ...

Too many hiccups during our cruise!

Review for MSC Divina to Bahamas

User Avatar

First of all, the ship is beautiful. My son and I decided choose MSC because of the positive experience my brother had a few weeks prior. Day 1, we had no hot water, thankfully this wasn't an issue for the remainder of the cruise. There was a horrible sewage odor throughout the entire cruise on our floor (12th). In addition some public restrooms smelled (urine). A concern with cleanliness, ...

Never Cruise Again

Review for MSC Divina to Bahamas

We choose this cruise because friends told us it was great. It was not at all. For starters the communication was awful, from the time we parked there was no direction and this continued throughout the cruise. The highlight of the cruise was the island on Saturday that we never got to go to. We set at the theater for almost 2 hours before they canceled the excursion, supposedly due to high ...
